The chapter started 2016 with our annual Past President’s Luncheon where we recognize the contributions of our Past Presidents. Past President, Debra Richardson, Director of the Risk Management program at UT Dallas was the keynote speaker. Debra spoke about the creation of the new Risk Management program at UT Dallas as well as the industry’s urgent need for talent. By current estimates, the industry faces a shortage of at least 400,000 jobs due to the upcoming retirement of the baby boomer generation. This is an enormous challenge and huge opportunity for the industry. The industry needs to provide more support to both new and existing RMI programs to produce enough qualified graduates to fill the industry’s talent needs.
