NOTE!Do not operate engine with engine shroud or muffler guard removed as this will cause overheating and engine damage.

MUFFLER Remove the muffler and clean excess carbon from the exhaust port or muffler inlet every 100 hours of operation. If you find corrosion on the muffler, replace it.

CYLINDER (ENGINE COOLING)The engine is air cooled, and air must circulate freely around engine and over cooling fins on cylinder head to prevent overheating.

Every 100 Operating hours, or once a year (more often if conditions require), clean fins and external surfaces of engine of dust, dirt and oil deposits which can contribute to improper cooling.

ANGLE TRANSMISSION (Fig. 3-4) Check the gear case grease level about every 50 hours of operation by removing the grease filler plug on the side of the case.

If no grease can be seen on the flanks of the gears, fill the transmission with a quality lithium based multipurpose grease up to 3/4. Do not completely fill the transmission.

• Use a sharp blade. A dull blade is more likely to snag and thrust. Replace the fastening nut if it is damaged and hard to tighten. • When replacing blade, purchase one recommended by manufacturer, with a 25.4mm (1 inch) hole. • When replacing blade, use appropriate tools. • When cutting edges become dull, re-sharpen or file as shown in figure. Incorrect sharpening may cause excessive vibration. • Discard blades that are bent, warped, cracked, broken or damaged in any way.

WARNING! DANGER! When the engine is idling the cutting attachment must under no circumstances rotate.

AIR FILTER (Fig. 3-2)The air filter must be cleaned from dust and dirt in order to avoid:• Carburetor malfunctions. • Starting problems. • Engine power reduction. • Unnecessary wear on the engine parts. • Abnormal fuel consumption. Clean the air filter daily or more often if working in exceptionally dusty areas.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER• Remove the air filter cover and the filter (2).• Rinse it in warm soap suds. Check that the filter is dry before reassembly. An air filter that has been used for some time cannot be cleaned completely. Therefore, it must regularly be replaced with a new one. A damaged filter must always be replaced.

FUEL FILTERDrain all fuel from fuel tank and pull fuel filter line from tank. Pull filter element out of holder assembly. Replace filter if it appears to be discolored or hardened from use. The filter has a white, felt-like appearance when new.

SPARK PLUG (Fig. 3-3)The spark plug condition is influenced by: • An incorrect carburetor setting. • Wrong fuel mixture (too much oil in the gasoline) • A dirty air filter.• Difficult running conditions (such as cold weather). These factors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which may result in malfunc-tion and starting di�culties. If the engine is low on power, di�cult to start or runs poorly at idling speed, always check the spark plug first. If the spark plug is dirty, clean it and check the electrode gap. Readjust if necessary. The correct gap is 0.6 mm. The spark plug should be replaced after about 100 operation hours or earlier if the electrodes are badly eroded.

STOPPING • Decrease engine speed and run at an idle for a few minutes, then turn off ignition switch.

WARNING! DANGER! A cutting attachment can injure while it continues to spin after the engine is stopped or power cont rol is released. When the unit is turned off, make sure the cutting attachment has stopped before the unit is set down.

MAINTENANCE

CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 3-1)

WARNING! DANGER! Never start the engine without the complete clutch cover and tube a ssembled! Otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injuries.

In the carburetor, fuel is mixed with air. When the engine is test run at the factory, the carburetor is basically adjusted. A further adjustment may be required, according to climate and altitude. The carburetor has one adjustment possibility:

IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT

• Check that the air filter is clean. When the idle speed is correct, the cutting attachment will not rotate. If adjustment is required, close (clockwise) the idle-screw, with the engine running, until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. • Open (counter-clockwise) the screw until the cutting attachment stops. You have reached the correct idle speed when the engine runs smoothly in all positions well below the rpm when the cutting attachment starts to rotate. • If the cutting attachment still rotates after idle speed adjustment, contact your service workshop.

Empiece siempre llenando la mitad de la cantidad de combustible que va a ser utiliza-da. Luego añada la cantidad total de aceite. STARTING (Fig 2-1A, 1B, 1C)

CAUTION! Before starting, make sure the cutting attachment does not touch anything

1. Set ignition switch (14) to the ON position. (Fig. 2-1A). Push priming bulb (18) several times so that fuel flows through return pipe (Fig. 2-1B)2. With the safety trigger (16) pressed, pull throttle trigger (13) and push throttle lock (15), then slowly release the throttle trigger first, then the safety trigger. This will lock the throttle in the starting position.3. Set choke lever (19) to OFF position. (Fig. 2-1C, 3)4. Pull recoil starter briskly, taking care to keep the handle in your grasp and not allowing it to snap back.5. When you hear the engine want to start, return choke lever to ON position. Then pull recoil starter briskly again.

NOTE!If engine does not start, repeat procedures from 2 to 5

6. After starting engine, pull throttle trigger to release throttle lock. Then allow the engine about 2-3 minutes to warm up before subjecting it to any load.

CUTTTING (Fig. 2-2A, 2B, 2C)• When cutting, operate engine at over 6500 rpm. Extended use at a low rpm will wear the clutch prematurely.• Cut grass from right to left.• Blade thrust may occur when the spinning blade contacts a solid object in the critical area. A dangerous reaction may occur causing the entire unit and operator to be thrust violently. This reaction is called BLADE THRUST. As a result, the operator may lose control of the unit which may cause serious or fatal injury. Blade thrust is more likely to occur in areas where it is di�cult to see the material to be cut.• Wear the harness as shown in the figure. The blade turns counterclockwise, therefore, be advised to operate the unit from right to left for e�cient cutting. Keep onlookers out of working area at least 15m (50ft.).

Como resultado, el usuario puede perder control de la unidad lo que puede ocasionar lesiones serias o fatales. Es más probable que el contragolpe de cuchilla ocurra en áreas donde es difícil ver el material que se va a cortar. • Utilice el arnés como se muestra en la figura. La cuchilla gira en dirección contraria a las manecillas del reloj, por lo tanto, se aconseja que utilice la unidad de derecha a izquierda para un corte eficiente. Mantenga a espectadores fuera del área de trabajo en por lo menos 15m (50 pies).

NOTA!Presione el botón de liberación rápida o hale la tapa de liberación de emergencia en el caso de una emergencia. (Fig. 2-2C)

OPERATING PROCEDURES

FUEL

WARNING! DANGER! • The trimmer is equipped with a two -stroke engine. Always run the engine on fuel, which is mixed

with oil.

• Provide good ventilation, when fueling or handling fuel.• Always use branded 90 octane unleaded gasoline.• Use a quality two-cycle oil at mixing ratio of 25:1 (Gasoline (A): Oil (B)). • Never use multi-grade oil (10 W/30) or waste oil.• Always mix fuel and oil in a separate clean container.Always start by filling half the amount of fuel, which is to be used. Then add the whole amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.Add the remaining amount of fuel.Mix (shake) the fuel-mix thoroughly before filling the fuel tank.

FUELING Before fueling, clean the tank cap area carefully, to ensure that no dirt falls into the tank. Make sure that the fuel is well mixed by shaking the container, before fueling.

WARNING! DANGER! • Always shut off the engine before refueling. • Slowly open the fuel tank, when removing cap, so that possible over -pressure disappears. • Tighten the fuel cap carefully, after fueling. • Always move the engine/equipment at least 3m (10ft.) from the fueling area before starting.

AJUSTE DE VELOCIDAD NEUTRAL

• Revise que el filtro de aire esté limpio. Cuando la velocidad ralentí es correcta, el accesorio de corte no rotará. Si se requiere ajuste, cierre (en sentido de las manecillas del reloj) el tornillo ralentí, con el motor funcionando, hasta que el accesorio de corte empiece a rotar. • Abra el tornillo (en sentido contrario a las manecillas del reloj) hasta que la herramienta de corte se detenga. Ha alcanzado la velocidad ralentí correcta cuando el motor funciona con regularidad en todas las posiciones bajo el rpm cuando la herramienta de corte inicia a rotar.• Si la herramienta de corte sigue rotando después del ajuste de velocidad ralentí, contacte a su taller de servicio.

ADVERTENCIA! PELIGRO! El accesorio de corte puede ocasionar lesiones mientras continúa girando luego que se detiene el motor o el control de energía es liberado. Cuando apague la unidad, asegúrese que el accesorio de corte se ha detenido antes de colocar la unidad abajo.

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES

1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 ASSEMBLE THE HANDLES (Fig. 1-1)• Loosen the 4 bolts on the upper shaft• Insert the handle• Push on the handles as desired• Tighten the 4 screws with the 5mm Allen Key.

REPLACE THE CUTTING BLADE (Fig. 1-2, 3)• Ensure the brush cutter is switch off and be sure the engine full stopped.• Insert a prevent rotational wrench or equivalent into the back shield and the adaptor semicircle hole to prevent the output shaft from turning.• Loosen the nut with the socket wrench (T-Wrench) by turning counterclockwise (view from top), then remove spring washer, washer, cover cap, spacer and cutter blade from the output shaft.• Replace the cutter blade, install the blade, by aligning the center of the blade with the shoulder on cover spacer A.• Install spacer C, the cover board, the washer and spring washer, then tight the nut.• Remove the prevent rotational wrench or equivalent from the back shield and adaptor.

INSTALL THE TRIMMER HEAD (Fig. 1-2, Fig. 1-4)• Ensure the brush cutter is switch off and be sure the engine full stopped.• Insert a prevent rotational wrench or equivalent into the back shield and the adaptor semicircle hole to prevent the output shaft from turning.• Loosen the nut with S5 wrench by turning counterclockwise (view from top), then remove spring washer, washer, cover cap, spacer and cutter blade from the output shaft.• Insert the shield on the fixed bracket, tighten the screw.• Tighten the Spool & Line Assembly on the machine head bolt by turning clockwise.

NOTA!El rpm estándar ralentí es 2800-3200 rpm.

FILTRO DE AIRE (Fig. 3-2)Se debe limpiar el filtro de aire de polvo y suciedad con el fin de evitar:• Mal funcionamiento del carburador. • Problemas de encendido. • Reducción de energía del motor. • Desgaste innecesario en las partes del motor. • Consumo anormal de combustible. Limpie el filtro de aire a diario o más frecuentemente si está operando en áreas excepcionalmente sucias

LIMPIEZA DEL FILTRO DE AIRE• Retire la tapa del filtro de aire y el filtro (2).• Enjuáguelo en agua jabonosa tibia. Revise que el filtro este seco antes de volverlo a armar. Un filtro de aire que ha sido utilizado por algún tiempo no se puede limpiar totalmente. Por lo tanto, debe ser remplazado con regularidad por uno nuevo. Un filtro dañado siempre debe ser remplazado.

FILTRO DE COMBUSTIBLEDrene todo combustible del tanque de combustible y hale el filtro de combustible del tanque. Hale el elemento del filtro fuera del montaje del soporte. Remplace el filtro si pareciera que se ha descolorado o endurecido por el uso. El filtro tiene un aspecto blanco cuando está nuevo.

Bujía (Fig. 3-3)La condición de la bujía es influenciada por:• Una configuración del carburador incorrecta• Mezcla de combustible incorrecta (demasiado aceite en la gasolina)• Un filtro de aire sucio • Condiciones de funcionamiento difíciles (tales como clima frío).Estos factores ocasionan depósitos en la chispa de la bujía, lo que puede resultar en malfuncionamiento y dificultades de encendido. Si el motor está bajo de energía, es difícil de encender o funciona mal en velocidad ralentí, verifique siempre la bujía prime-ro. Si la bujía está sucia, límpiela y revise la separación de chispas. Reajuste si es necesa-rio. La separación correcta es 0.6 mm. la bujía debe ser remplazada después de alrede-dor de 100 horas de uso o antes si los electrodos están muy desgastados por la erosión.

ADVERTENCIA! PELIGRO! Cuando el motor está al ralentí, la herramienta de corte no debe rotar bajo ninguna circunstancia.

NOTA!No utilice el motor sin el refuerzo del motor o el resguardo del silenciador ya que ello ocasionará sobrecalentamiento y el motor se dañará.

SILENCIADOR Retire el silenciador y limpie el exceso de carbón del puerto de salida o la entrada del silenciador cada 100 horas de uso. Si encuentra corrosión en el silenciador, remplácelo.

CILINDRO (ENFRIAMIENTO DEL MOTOR)El motor es enfriado con aire, y el aire debe circular libremente alrededor del motor y a través de las laminillas de enfriamiento del cabezal del cilindro para prevenir sobrecalentamiento.

Cada 100 horas de operación, o una vez al año (de manera más frecuente si lascondiciones lo requieren), limpie las laminillas y superficies externas del motor de polvo, suciedad y depósitos de aceite que puedan contribuir a un enfriamiento inadecuado.

TRANSMISIÓN DE ÁNGULO (Fig. 3-4)Revise el nivel de grasa de la caja de cambios cada 50 horas de uso removiendo el conector de filtro de grasa en el lateral de la caja.

Si no se ve grasa en los flancos de los cambios, llene la transmisión con una grasa multipropósitos de calidad basada en litio de hasta ¾. No llene la transmisión por completo.

CUCHILLA

• Utilice una cuchilla afilada. Es más probable que una cuchilla desgastada se atasque. Remplace la tuerca de ajuste si está dañada y es difícil de ajustar. • Al remplazar la cuchilla, compre una que sea recomendada por el fabricante, con un orificio de 24.5mm (1 pulgada)• Al remplazar la cuchilla, utilice herramientas apropiadas.• Cuando los bordes de corte se desgasten, vuelva a afilarlos como se muestra en la figura. Si los afila de forma incorrecta puede ocasionar vibración excesiva.• Deseche las cuchillas que estén dobladas, alabeada, rajada, quebrada o dañada de cualquier forma.

ADVERTENCIA! PELIGRO! Utilice guantes protectores cuando manipule o le de mantenimiento a la cuchilla.
