PASCO Resonance Tube System

12 G SP-WA-9495 PASCO Economy Resonance Tube: Students will easily hear resonant

frequencies from this tube. Two nested cardboard tubes with a removable

inner stopper allow students to perform resonance experiments on both open

and closed tubes. Using the 1.3metre inner plunger tube to vary the length of

the column of air within allows students to investigate the effects of length on

the resonant frequencies. A measuring tape is mounted to the plunger tube to

indicate the effective length. Remove the plunger tube and a 1.3 metre open

tube of constant length remains for further investigations. Students can vary

sound source frequency to investigate an open-tube resonant frequency

pattern.

Each 122.80 151.04

rear of the speaker, allowing students to clearly hear resonant frequencies.

Resonance Air Column with Speaker

SP-WA-9594 Resonance Air Column with Speaker €226.99 + VAT at 23%

The PASCO Resonance Air Column is a clear plastic tube that works with the included Mini Speaker to demonstrate the propagation of sound waves in a tube. It is possible to set up standing wave patterns and locate nodes and anti-nodes in the air column. The speed of sound in air can also be measured. The movable piston allows the length of the resonating air column to be adjusted.

The resonance air column emits a very loud sound when the plunger is moved to a node position. It works as well as a water column but without the mess. The secret is in the long moulded piston head which is very efficient in reflecting the sound waves.

The 1.2 metres long Resonance Air Column has a polycarbonate tube that will not break or chip like inferior acrylic. It includes eight plastic snap-on rings which can be slid along the tube to mark the nodes. Then a metre stick is used to read the positions of the rings. The plunger handle is make from flexible acetyl so it will not break.

The included Mini Speaker is made to fit with the Resonance Air Column. It can be powered with a signal generator or PASCO's 850 Universal Interface. It is also useful as a stand-alone speaker for interference demonstrations. Two of the essentially point sources can output the same frequency and the spatial interference pattern can be explored.

Includes: Resonance Air Column Tube, Plunger, 8 x Node Markers, 2 x Detachable Stands, Mini Speaker.
