To administer and enforce the Environmental Quality Act, 1974

(Amendments 1985, 1996) and Section IV of the Exclusive

control of pollution and enhancement of the environment in Malaysia.

▫ Restricts the discharge of wastes into the environment in contravention of the acceptable conditions.

• Use of other tools for example environmental modelling

• Integration and link with NRE’s agencies and other government agencies

• Mobile GIS – GIS for officers in field

• Fully utilize by all level of DOE officers in environmental management and enforcement and investigation

Geospatial approach has its significant role in

environmental management in Malaysia

Maximizing use of ICT and

GIS will enhance the effectiveness of DOE in line

with the lean civil service
