The Managing Committee elected by you is almost completing its first 100 days in office. Several initiatives undertaken havesignificantly contributed to increased usage of Club by members. I take this opportunity to thank Vice-President, Hon.Secretary,Treasurer and Chair Persons and members of various sub-committees including Ladies Committee and, of course, themembers without whose encouragement, advise and participation the outcomes would not have been so positive.

Screening of yet another blockbuster movie "SRIMANTHUDU" was viewedby over 800 members. Thanks to our own member Mr.Jagga Rao M.No.J-52 for sponsoring the event. TERRIFIC TUESDAYS EVENT REVIEW– SEP 1ST, 2015

As the saying goes, “third time’s a charm” and it proved worthy indeedat the third installation of our Ladies Committee workshop. Theoverarching theme this week was ‘Soups, Salads & Sweets’, aimed atkeeping our members healthy and smiling.

Several members and home-cooks showcased their cooking prowessvia a live feed, which was broadcasted on a large screen for theconvenience of the entire audience. The demos were all different intheir approach to demonstrate varied tricks to whip-up fun, healthy, andeasy-to-make dishes. Vani Gannamani, an entrepreneur and socialactivist, was the first-up with the display of a healthy, barley soup withcrunchy vegetables and a Thai soup with mushrooms. Her combinationof taste and ease in preparation left many in the audience wantingmore. Poonam Morada, one of our long-time members, was next upwith a display of four different salads (Hawaiian, Oats & Chickpea,Roasted Chicken Caesar& Tuna cocktail), which were Masterchef worthyin their restaurant quality appearance and taste. As a true Punjabiwoman with a large heart, Poonam cooked and served on the spot forover a 100 people! Having completed the ‘healthy’ part of the workshop, the audience was treated to a display of one of the simplest preparationsof Sandesh by the sweets queen, Anita Gupta. In all but 15 minutes,Anita had laid out a tray of kesar, mango, and strawberry flavouredSandesh for all of the audience. Thank you Anita for showing us thatthe humble Sandesh can stand its own in front of the mighty chocolatemousse, any day!

All the recipes of the dishes were handed to the present members andhave been posted to the Ladies’ Committee Facebook page for thosewho could only make it in spirit! The LC would like to thank all theparticipating ladies for taking the time to out to share their talents with theother members of the group. With satisfied taste buds, the ladies hurriedhome to share their new found recipes, (even some salad and dessert)for their loved ones at home. Next time you’re looking to thank someonefor all the new delicious food at home, you’ll know where to find us!
