Youth and Young Adults (YYA)
Youth and young adults (YYA) refers to individuals between the ages of 16 and 29.

Important Statistics
In 2013, 19% of YYA (ages 20-24) were neither working nor in school
In 2012, 71% of YYA (ages 18-24) had a usual source of health care
In 2015-2016, 35.7% of young adults were obese
In 2016, 48.5% of young adults with a serious mental illness did not access any health services
In 2012, the rate of mental illness in YYA ages 18-25) was 19.6%, with 2.2 million adolescents having had a major depressive episode

• Provide support to those with mental health and/or substance use barriers to enhance the quality of their recovery process
• Advocacy for individuals and education for self-advocacy to help individuals in multiple systems get the best quality care for their own personal recovery
• Education on all around wellness so the people we serve can live healthy and maintain
• Remove stigma in the community by raising awareness with events, activities, and trainings
Youth M.O.V.E. Broward (Motivating Others Through Voices of Experience)
• Educates, advocates and empowers young people through creative projects, workshops, trainings, and job opportunities
• Unite our voices to promote equal partnership in decision-making between youth and adults in the multiple systems of care in Broward County

• Diagnosis vary: ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, cannabis use, amphetamine/opioid intoxication and many others
