Goldfish Making 10s Math Game By: A. Whiteley

I created this game to provide my students with a fun way to practice some addition facts. It would make a great math center activity, small group or to send home for a great student-parent activity.

The recording sheet can be copied for individual use or laminated and used with a dry erase marker.

Common Core Standards:

K.OA.5: Operations & Algebraic Thinking: Fluently add and subtract within 5.

1.OA.6: Operations & Algebraic Thinking: Add and subtract within 20. Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.

Goldfish Making 10s

Directions:

1. Mix up the cards. Put them face down in a pile. 2. On your turn, choose two cards. 3. Add the numbers on the cards together to find out.

If the answer is 10, you can keep the cards. If the answer is not 10, you have to put the cards back and your turn is over.

4. The player to get the most cards wins!!
