Examples of good practice of bimass usage in Serbia

Economical effects of fossil fuels replacing with biofuels on

example of school buildings in Serbia

Main instruments of promotion

Tax policy and standards for biofuels in Serbia

Examples of good practice 1: Wood fuels in public district heating systems in Belgrade

“SENJAK” in Belgrade

Examples of good practice 1: Wood fuels in public district heating systems in Belgrade

Consumption in 2011

Briquettes: 1,373 tonnes

Pellets: 2,276 tonnes

Boiler stations of the VICTORIA GROUP company

1. Biomass boiler in Victoria Oil ŠID based on shell sunflower,

Capacity 15 t/h (p=12 bar)

2.Biomass boiler in SOJAPROTEIN BEČEJ company, based on

straw, Capacity 15 t/h (p= 13 bar)

3. Biodiesel factory

Capacity – 100.000 t/year

biomass collection:

10 years contracts

Included are roll and square

Examples of good practice 3: Economical effects and comparative advantages of fossil fuels replacing with biofuels in school buildings in

Serbia Total needed quantities of wood chips for

conversion of coal in school buildings (2,324

buildings) in Serbia as well as in 10 heating

plants in the district heating system in

Serbia are 173,311 tonnes.

The price of1 kWh of wood chips is lower

than the price of 1 kWh of energy from coal

and ranges from 6.25% (Nišavski district) to

37.5% (Toplički district).

Production of wood chips in Serbia in

2010 was 150,000 tonnes

Feed-in tarife for electricity production in Serbia

Biomass CHP c€/kWh

Installation up to 500 kW 13.6

Installation between 500 kW and 5 MW 13.845-0.489*P

Installation larger than 5 MW 11.4

Biogas

c€/kWh

Installation up to 200 kW 16

Installation between 200 kW and 2 MW 16.444-2.222*P

Installation larger than 2 MW 12

*P – Installed capacity in MW

Tax policy and standards for biofuels in Serbia

VAT for firewood = 8%

PDV for other wood fuels (briquettes, pellets, chips) = 18%

PDV for stoves and boilers = 18%

In this moment incentives for households, public buildings, commercial buildings and other consumers are being designed. It could be expected, that these incentives will be implemented from heating sesaon 2012/2013.
