The bright red with white border masthead is used to catch the attention of the target audience and is placed in the top left corner as that is where most peoples eyelines go to when reading something so to put it there is the logical option

The main image of dizzee rascal was chosen because it shows him as being fun and crazy , something that the youthful target audience of NME would aspire to be like

The header describes the title of the issue from which the target audience can see what its about from a quick glance

The main cover line tries to get the point to the target audience that the only important thing in this issue is dizzee rascal so his fans should buy the magazine

The background is full of graffiti which tries to associate the magazine with the urban / grime scene that dizzee rascal made his name in , too attract his fans and the target audience who the magazine is trying to attract

Not to alienate fans of other genres in there target audience the other sell lines feature rock bands to keep them intterested in buying the magazine

TARGET AUDIENCE OF THIS MAGAZINEThe target audience for NME magazine is someone around the age of 25 and is interested in music and this is why they buy the magazine. The genre of music NME covers is that of pop rock and hip-hop so it aims to capture a younger target audience as they are both commonly youth related genres. The price of the magazine is £2.20 so it is easy to buy and does not take up much of a customers weekly spend , another reason for a relatively lower price compared to rivals (e.g. Q is £3.99) is to make sure that C1 too E social class youths buy the magazine as there is a large market for a pop rock and hip hop magazine , as this is the most common genres people listen too.

The use of Dizzee rascal as the main image and main feature of the magazine appeals to younger people (the intended target audience ) as they are more likely to listen too his music

The magazine has changed since the 1980s when it started to lose its main focus on rock music and has now been influenced by hip-hop as well in the magazine

The magazine features articles , reviews of albums, singles and concerts and also features information about upcoming events and competitions
