Introduction

• This presentation introduces the five macro-trends of the US healthcare system and how it will shape the future. It will also explain the factors that will impact the healthcare system as well. These factors are analysis of the World Health Organization (WHO) and consist of social, cultural, economic, political or any other activity human beings participates in.

• Therefore, the impact of these factors will be accessed in recognizing advantages and risks.

• This presentation also introduces creation of jobs based off those factors and recommendations that will assist the new opening of job opportunities.

Impacts on economy can be negative and positive so that leadership focuses on leadership strategies to control negative impacts.

The direct negative impact on the economic system consist of two major ways:

1. Decreasing human resource.

2. Increasing treatment cost.

Quantitative structural, and intermediate traditions of individuals have direct and indirect relationship with national and international economic growth.

Work force age & gender – civilian labor force (above 16)… 63.3%; Civilian labor force (female)… 58.7%

Year 2010-2014 – With disability (under 65)… 8.5%; Without insurance… 10.5%;

Macro-trends has the greatest impact on demographic issues relating to statistical data such as:

1 Gender- Male and Female; GLBT

3 Birth –New born and birth rates

2 Income – Poor versus Rich

4 Death – old age and death rate

*Managing health problems of individuals in a given society has tremendous value and contribution to the demographic changes to progress in normal condition.

What we found? Macro-Trend 3: Personal Lifestyle and Behavior

Behavior: Behaviors will cause more investing in educational programs of

healthy living in schools and workplaces

Personal Lifestyle: unhealthy lifestyle such as smoking,

alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, unhealthy dietary

practices.This causes acute chronic diseases; heart diseases,

obesity, and forms of cancers.

Technology

1 Biotechnology Innovation Organization purely based on biology; uses technologies to process cells and biological .

2 Currently using human stem cells to test new drugs; This can help guarantee to generate cells and tissues that can be used for cell based therapy.

3 Treat diseases like spinal cord injuries, burns, heart diseases, diabetes, osteoarthritis, macular degeneration, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Biotechnology: reducing rates of infectious diseases.

Top trend in biotechnology are stem cell therapies and personalized medicines.

Under the Supplemental Poverty Measure, there are 45.7 million living in poverty.

2.6 million more than are represented by the official poverty measure (43.1 million).

• 43.1 million people (13.5%) were in poverty.

• 24.4 million (12.4%) of people ages 18-64 are in poverty.

• 14.5 million (19.7%) children below 18 are in poverty.

• 4.2 million (8.8%) seniors 65 and older are in poverty.

Therefore, in conclusion, economy, demographics, personal lifestyle and behavior, and government

policies are all macro-trends that affect the United States healthcare system.

Requires special policies, plans, and recommendations to control issues of US Healthcare system

Demands a high number of healthcare professionals and health care leaders

Managing one’s personal lifestyles to ensure safety and success of their health.
