NO HOLDS BARREDBy M. A. SADANAND

Any fool who can go to a petty shop in Mumbai and, witha conspiratorial wink like Casca, ask “Got sticks?” and ,if the reply is a nod, orders half a dozen, is India’s nouveexplosive democrat who can cause in good Home MinisterChidambaram duodenal ulcer when the sticks send toeternal rest and effect anatomical changes in hundreds ofinnocent persons.

This soft spoken, high profile Central Minister, with aplebian wardrobe of the tiller and the best legal brain in thegovernment, can’t be made a punch bag every time asmelly traitor is outskunked by the putrid faeces wrappedin gold foil. It is an economic truism that money is at theroot of all evil, including Mumbai and other metropolitanblasts.

Some wise man said “Empty drums rattle most”. TheMumbai detonators can’t even rattle because of atrophiedhands and vacuous brains. Following their canine instincts, they jump at a chance and move on, armed with gelatinsticks so plentiful in Casca’s shacks.

Even the mud balls thrown by the opposition do not stainChidambaram’s white shirt. Purity needs no further proof!
