Lynca Growth
2017: Abattoir improvements
received approval and go-
ahead.
The project will improve the
abattoir department in stag-
es. Initially aiming to reach
5000 pigs slaughtered per
week.
The final aim is to reach 7000
pigs slaughtered per week.
The project has started with the lairages that was moved to give way for
the abattoir extension. The extension will house a new automated line,
stun machine and de-hairing machine to meet the new demands for the
facility.
In addition, to accommodate the extra pigs, two more carcass chillers, with
a 300 carcasses capacity will also be added.
All the improvements will be done in phases which also include changes in
the Deboning layout to accommodate the abattoir improvements.

Fire & Feast Butchery Festival
“Stewed, roasted, cured, simmered
seared and braai’d were just some of the
ways cuts of lamb, beef and pork were
cooked to perfection at The Fire & Feast
Butcher’s Festival, presented by Crown
National, which took place at JHB
Ticketpro Dome from 26 to 28 May.”
Lynca Meats representatives where there
and presented Lynca cuts/meat products.
“We had a wonderful time, taking turns as
the festival was spread into three days.
We were also asked to park our Truck for
display at the site, which was great PR for
us” Lovely times and thanks to the team
that was there!

Workplace Safety Awareness during construction
To all employees, staff and visitors at Lynca meats. A lot is happening on site with machinery,
equipment and people movement.
There are a few projects happening onsite to accommodate the business growth. All personnel on site
are encouraged to be vigilant, patient and tolerate each other with the hope of achieving Zero injuries.
Do not cross barricaded areas!
We do not wish anyone to be injured and we want the projects to go smoothly and be finished on time
before the “silly season”.
Security is going the extra mile to ensure that everyone who enters the site is safe and ready to work.
Please do report unsafe behavior to your safety representatives or managers as they happen.
