The Association of Lutheran Friends invites YOU to see first hand how Lutheran World Relief works and ministers to the needs of people all over the world! The experience also includes actual hands-on work to sort and pack relief materials to be shipped overseas. Included also is a tour of the LWR headquarters in historic Baltimore Inner Harbor. We will do this together with Lutherans from many Lutheran churches in NEPA. When we embark on this mission we will bring a collection of Health Kits, which we will have gathered from our congregations! Make a donation of Health Kits even if you can’t come! Please send in your registration TODAY so we can plan better for you! Youth and Families are especially invited! After a subsidy by A.L.F. - YOUR COSTS FOR THIS MISSION VENTURE: ADULT: $80 YOUTH (under 18): $45 Price includes: Lodging (double occupancy), Transportation, Lunch Thursday, Breakfast Friday. Price DOESN’T include anything else (except lots of smiles and laughter.)

What is it? TRIP ITINERARY:

Thursday: 7:30 a.m. Depart from Scranton 11:30 a.m. Arrive in New Windsor,

MD and check in to the New Windsor Conference Center.

12 p.m. Enjoy our lunch at the Conference Center

1 p.m. Join in the work at the LWR receiving and distribution center in various tasks (depending on preference) as assigned by LWR staff.

5 p.m. Dinner and Free Time 8 p.m. Devotions (as you desire) Friday: 8 a.m. Breakfast and check out. 9 a.m. Tour of the LWR warehouse

and shipping facilities. 10:30 a.m. Depart for Baltimore

Inner Harbor 11:30 a.m. Tour of LWR head

offices as well as other Lutheran agencies.

12:30 Free Time to explore Inner Harbor.

Group tickets to the aquarium will be bought if anyone is interested.

6 p.m. Depart Baltimore for Scranton

WOMEN’S GROUPS CAN JOIN US IN

THE MISSION! Include (exactly) the following items in each LWR Health Kit: Include the following items in each health kit: • One hand towel, dark color • One washcloth, dark color • One bath-size bar (4 to 5 oz.) of

soap, any brand, in its original wrapping

• One adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging

• One sturdy comb, no packaging • One metal nail file or nail clippers

with file attached, remove packaging (do not substitute cardboard emery boards for the file)

• Six Band-Aids® (or similar brand), preferably 1/2" to 3/4"; secure together with a rubber band

Do not add other items or leave out any of the items listed. All items should be new and in good condition. Wrap smaller items in the washcloth; wrap washcloth and remaining items in the towel and tie securely with ribbons or yarn. Do not enclose the kit or any of its contents in plastic bags.

Health kits to bring
