Forthepastdecade,theLsUmen’sandwomen’sgolfteamshavecalledUniversityClubhome.thecoursereceivedthehonorofbeingrankedthe13th-besthomeforcollegegolfinthecountry,accordingtoasurveypublishedintheseptember2005issueofGolfDigest.theevaluationbyGolfDigestrankedthetop15homecoursesincollegegolf,andincludedsuchcriteriaasshotvalues,resistancetoscoring,courselayoutanddesign,memorabilityandconditioning. Afterundergoingextensiverenovationsoverthepastyear,thehomeofLsU’snationally-rankedprogramsfeaturesanewly-designedpar-72layoutthatwillserveasanimpressiveshowpieceforgenerationstocome.

SEASON PREVIEWLSU Golf Enjoys Time in National Spotlight

The LSU men’s golf team put an exclamation point onto the end of an outstanding season in 2009-10 by joining the nation’s elite programs at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.

It marked LSU’s first appearance in the prestigious event since 1997, and the Tigers

responded with a 24th-place finish in the team standings while reclaiming their position as one of

the premier programs in college golf.

In fact, LSU won three tournament championships for the second year in a row and earned a pair of fifth-place

finishes at the SEC Championships and NCAA Central Regional Championships en route to an appearance at the national

tournament in the season finale.

And the Tigers are hungry for more in 2010-11 as they return their entire starting five from the lineup that competed at the NCAA

Championships in June and welcome one of the nation’s top recruiting classes to campus this fall. There is no doubt that LSU

is poised to compete for an SEC championship and a spot in match play at this year’s NCAA Championships with one of the

more talented teams in the game under sixth-year head coach Chuck Winstead.

The Tigers are sure to be led again this year by the All-American duo of Andrew Loupe and John Peterson,

who each received honorable mention All-America recognition a season ago.

Loupe emerged as one of the true stars in the college game with his performance in 2009-10 as he led the

team with a 72.0 scoring average in 13 appearances with a team-leading four top-five, six top-10 and eight top-20 finishes on the season. That includes a tie for fourth place at the SEC Championships and a tie for sixth place at the NCAA Central Regional Championships.

Loupe’s scoring average of 72.0 ranked No. 8 among all golfers in the SEC, and was a new career best by nearly two strokes. The Baton Rouge native earned his first career

First-Team All-SEC honor, and a pair of honorable mention All-America honors from PING and Golfweek.

Peterson was just as impressive as he also set a new career-low scoring average of 72.29 for a No. 12 ranking among golfers in the SEC. He also recorded two top-five, three top-10 and five top-20

finishes on the year to help lead the Tigers to their most successful season in more than a decade.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Peterson cemented his All-America status for the second year in a row with an impressive performance at

the NCAA Championships. He tied for sixth place individually with a score of 5-under 211 to become the first LSU Tiger since Perry Moss in 1991 to place in the top 10 of the leaderboard in the event. That effort helped land Peterson an honorable mention All-America honor from PING following second-team selection from both PING and Golfweek in 2009.

Golf Magazine Top 100 TeacherGolf Digest’s No. 1 Teacher in Louisiana

The LSU men’s golf program has enjoyed a meteoric rise back to the pinnacle of college golf in just five seasons under head coach Chuck Winstead, and if the 2009-10 campaign is any indication, the Tigers are poised to challenge for their first Southeastern Conference crown in 24 years this season with one of the more talented rosters in the country. Winstead enters his sixth season leading a program with four NCAA championships and 15 SEC championships in its illustrious history, and he has quickly transformed the Tigers into a perennial postseason contender during his tenure in Baton Rouge. The Tigers enjoyed their most successful season under Winstead a year ago after winning three tournament championships and earning a 24th-place finish in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships held at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn. LSU earned a spot in the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1997. After defending their home turf while capturing the team title at the David Toms Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Louisiana in the fall, Winstead guided the Tigers to wins at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette and Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, S.C., in the 2010 spring season. It marked the second year in a row for LSU to win three tournament titles in a season, and the first time since 1965-66 and 1966-67 to win three team championships in two consecutive seasons. The Tigers have captured eight tournament titles under Winstead. He then coached the Tigers to a fifth-place finish at the SEC Men’s Golf Championships, following their tie for fourth place in 2009. LSU earned back-to-back top-five finishes at the SEC Championships for the first time since 1992 and 1993. That effort earned the Tigers a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Central Regional Championships hosted by Notre Dame at The Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., where they earned a fifth-place finish in the final standings to qualify for the 30-team field at the NCAA Championships. “We’re very proud of the progress that this program has made in just a few short years, but the work is never done,” Winstead said. “LSU Golf has a great and storied history on a national level, and there is no doubt that the foundation has been laid for us to enjoy that kind of success once again. It’s a very exciting time to be an LSU Tiger.” Winstead, a Ruston native who played at LSU from 1989-91, believes that the foundation of any successful program is built on recruiting the best high school athletes the sport has to offer. In five seasons, Winstead has not only proven himself as one of the premier coaches in the game, but he has also established a reputation as being one of the nation’s top recruiters while attracting many of the premier junior golfers in the country to Baton Rouge since his first class in 2005. LSU will compete with one of the nation’s more talented rosters this season. Two members of Winstead’s first full recruiting class as the head coach open their senior season in 2010-11 after receiving All-America honors a year ago. It marked the first time since 1989 that two Tigers were named All-Americans in the same season. Loupe enjoyed a breakout junior season a year ago in which he also earned his first First-Team All-SEC honor as an LSU Tiger while finishing the season as the No. 44-ranked performer in the country in Golfweek’s ranking of the top college golfers in the NCAA. He also recorded an impressive career-low scoring average of 72.00 to lead the team. Peterson was also impressive during his junior campaign as he cemented his All-America status with a sixth-place finish individually at the NCAA Championships, becoming the first LSU Tiger to earn a top-10 finish in the event since Perry Moss finished fourth in 1991. He also ended with a new career-low scoring average of 72.29 strokes per round. Winstead’s reputation as one of the top golf teachers in the country has been evident with LSU’s performance over the past five years as the team scoring average has dropped dramatically since his first season as head coach in 2005-06. After averaging 295.6 strokes per round as a team during his inaugural season, the Tigers have lowered their scoring average each season at 296.7 in 2006-07, 293.6 in 2007-08, 293.4 in 2008-09 and an impressive 290.6 a year ago. While the Tigers have enjoyed tremendous success on the course in five seasons under Winstead with two All-America, three All-SEC and four SEC All-Freshman performers, LSU has also achieved great success academically in the classroom with a total of 32 selections to the SEC Academic Honor Roll during his tenure as head coach. In addition, the Tigers also received an NCAA Public Recognition Award in May 2010 in which they were rewarded for finishing among the top 10 percent of NCAA Division I men’s golf programs nationwide in their Academic Progress Rates (APR).

“LSU Golf will be a nationally competitive program again as we attract elite high school golfers to Baton Rouge and provide an environment for improvement that is second to none,” Winstead said. “We will provide our players with the opportunity to be the best they can be both on and off the course. There will be no other program in the country where a young man can go and have the resources he will find at LSU. We’re on the cutting-edge in all areas, and as a result, our players will achieve great things in the future.” Winstead is considered one of the top teaching professionals in the country and has been a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher since 2005, joining the likes of Butch Harmon, Peter Kostis, Jim Flick and Tiger standout and recent LSU Hall of Fame inductee Eddie Merrins. In addition, Golf Digest has recognized Winstead as Louisiana’s Top Teacher since 2006. He has been featured on The Golf Channel and frequently appears in such publications as Golf Magazine and Golf Tips Magazine, for which he serves as Senior Instruction Editor. Winstead’s credentials include a five-year association with Jack Nicklaus’ Golden Bear Golf, Inc., in North Palm Beach, Fla., where he served as Director of Instruction for Golden Bear Golf, among other responsibilities. Winstead served as part of the senior management team responsible for developing, managing and initiating the launch of Jack Nicklaus Golf Academies throughout the world. Prior to moving to the University Club in 2000 where he served as Director of Instruction and owner of the Chuck Winstead Golf Academy for five years prior to being named the Tigers’ head coach, Winstead served as Director of Instruction at English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans from 1998-2000. In addition, he also served as the head instructor for the Bob Toski Golf Learning Center in Sunrise, Fla., from 1993-95. Winstead graduated from LSU in 1991. He and wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of two sons – Trey, 11, and David, 8 – and are active members of First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.

Shane Warren enters his sixth season as an assistant coach with the LSU men’s golf program as he is responsible for assisting head coach Chuck Winstead in LSU’s recruiting efforts, coordinating practice sessions, providing assistance at tournaments and handling all day-to-day responsibilities with the team. With Warren’s assistance, the Tigers have advanced to NCAA postseason play in each of the last three seasons, including a trip to the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships a season ago. LSU earned a spot in the 30-team field at the NCAA Championships following a fifth place finish at the NCAA Central Regional Championships. The Tigers are poised to build upon their 24th-place finish in the national championships a year ago as they compete this season with their most talented roster in more than a decade. “I’ve enjoyed every minute in my time here at LSU working with Chuck to help build the program into what it is today. And there is still a lot of work to be done,” Warren said. “I’m one of the fortunate few to wake up every day and do something that I love and am passionate about. The opportunity to work alongside Chuck in this capacity is something that I am very proud of, and learning from him has been everything I knew it would be. I’m excited of what is to come for the LSU men’s golf program.”

With Warren’s assistance, LSU has established itself as one of the Top 20 golf programs in the NCAA once again while earning a No. 15 national ranking in the Golfweek Preseason Top 25 poll for the 2010-11 season. This comes on the heels of climbing as high as No. 12 nationwide in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index during the 2009-10 campaign. The foundation of LSU’s success has been built on recruiting the nation’s premier players to Baton Rouge, and Warren has certainly demonstrated his recruiting prowess in his tenure. The Tigers were led to their most successful season in 15 years last spring by a pair of All-Americans as Andrew Loupe and John Peterson received honorable mention All-America honors from PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America. Loupe also received honorable mention All-America honors from Golfweek following the season. Their selection marked the first time that LSU has had two golfers earn All-America honors in the same season since David Toms (first team) and Greg Lesher (second team) in 1989. Peterson also earned second-team All-America honors from both Golfweek and PING in 2009. In six seasons as an LSU assistant coach, Warren has helped develop two All-Americans, three All-SEC performers and four members of the SEC All-Freshman Team. That success helped Warren earn national recognition in 2010 as he was a semifinalist for the Jan Strickland Award, which honors the assistant coach for NCAA Division, I, II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics or National Junior College Athletics Association that has excelled in working with their student-athletes in success on the course and in the classroom. Warren served in the same capacity with head coach Karen Bahnsen and the nationally-ranked LSU women’s golf program from 2003 through the end of the 2006 season. He is considered one of the top assistant coaches in Division I college golf, and the National Golf Coaches Association Board of Directors named Warren the 2004-05 NGCA Assistant Coach of the Year in July 2005. A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Warren came to LSU in 2003 after serving as an assistant coach for the Alabama women’s golf program from 1999-2002 and as an instructor for the Chuck Winstead Golf Academy at the University Club in 2003. Under his guidance, the Lady Tigers went from a program that was ranked 55th nationally when he joined the staff to one that was ranked in the top 10 in his last two seasons with the team. Prior to his stints at Alabama and LSU, Warren served two years as the assistant golf professional at Hidden Meadows Golf Club in Northport, Ala., and one year as the head golf instructor at the Golden Bear Golf Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He also served as an associate golf professional at Lago Mar Country Club in Plantation, Fla., and as an instructor for the Mark Wood Golf Learning Center in Fort Lauderdale. The 40-year-old Warren graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in sports and fitness management in 1994. He married the former Lauren Burger of New Orleans on March 10, 2007, and has two daughters – Caroline, 6, and Ellagrace, 2.

SEASON REVIEWLSU Golf Returns to NCAA Championships

For the first time since 1997, the LSU men’s golf team wrapped up a season with an appearance at the NCAA

Division I Men’s Golf Championships as the Tigers competed against the nation’s best programs at

The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the right to be crowned national champions. With a

54-hole team score of 19-over par 883, the Tigers cracked the Top 25 in the final standings with a 24th-place finish, marking the team’s first Top

25 finish at the NCAA Championships in 14 seasons. For the Tigers, it was

the highlight of an outstanding 2009-10 campaign in which they captured three tournament championships and earned fifth-place finishes in both the SEC Championships and NCAA Central Regional Championships en route to a berth into the NCAA Championships. LSU ranked second among SEC teams in the final standings at the NCAA Championships behind 11th-place Florida.

Peterson Shines in Top 10 Finish at NCAA Championships Junior All-American John Peterson wrapped up an impressive week at the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships with scores of 4-under 68 in a postponed second round and 2-under 70 in

the final round held at The Honors Course en route to a top-10 finish on the leaderboard in LSU’s 2010-

11 season finale. Peterson snapped a 19-year drought be becoming the

first LSU Tiger to earn a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships by firing

a 5-under par 211 in 54 holes to tie for sixth place in medal play. Former Tiger

standout Perry Moss was the last LSU golfer to finish in the top 10 of the final

leaderboard at the national championships when he tied for fourth place in 1991. Not

only that, but Peterson’s tournament score of 5-under 211 is the lowest in

relation to par for a Tiger at the NCAA Championships since at least 1985.

Loupe, Peterson Earn All-America Honors in 2010For their outstanding performance throughout the 2009-10 season, Peterson and fellow junior Andrew Loupe were honored with All-America honors after leading the Tigers to their most successful campaign in more than a decade. Both earned honorable mention All-America honors from PING, while Loupe also added an honorable mention selection from Golfweek following the end of the NCAA Championships. Their selection marked the first time that LSU has had two golfers earn All-America honors in the same season since David Toms (first team) and Greg Lesher (second team) were named All-Americans in 1989.

Tigers Earn NCAA Qualifying Spot at Central RegionalWith a fifth-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Central Regional Championships at The Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., the Tigers earned the right to compete at the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1997. LSU fired a team-best 2-under par 278 for the weekend in the final round to grab one of five automatic qualifying spots with a 54-hole team score of 7-over par 847. The No. 5-seeded Tigers joined first-place Stanford, runner-up Florida State, third-place Florida and fourth-place Duke in qualifying for the NCAA Championships from The Warren Golf Course. Loupe set the pace for the Tigers as he fired a 2-under 208 in three rounds for a tie for sixth place on the individual leaderboard as he posted his team-leading sixth top-10 finish of the season.

Tigers Take Fifth Place at SEC ChampionshipsLSU kicked off the 2010 postseason by finishing in fifth place in the team standings at the SEC Men’s Golf Championships held at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga., marking their second-straight top-five finish at the conference tournament. The Tigers finished in a tie for fourth place in 2009. With top-five finishes in 2009 and 2010, the Tigers accomplished the feat in back-to-back season for the first time since 1992 and 1993. The Tigers posted a 54-hole team score of 16-over par 856 to earn a fifth-place finish, led by a 3-under 207 from Loupe. The junior from Baton Rouge solidified his All-SEC candidacy by tying for fourth place on the leaderboard for his best career finish in the event. Loupe Earns All-SEC Accolades for First Time in Career With his performance throughout his junior season, Loupe solidified his position as one of the premier players in the college game. He became the second LSU Tiger in as many seasons to receive First-Team All-SEC recognition in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches as he joined Peterson, who earned such an honor following the 2008-09 campaign. Loupe wrapped up the season as LSU’s leading scorer while establishing a career-low 72.0 scoring average in 38 competitive rounds as he cracked the starting five in all 13 events for which LSU competed in 2009-10. Not only that, but he led the way with six top-10 finishes on the year, including five in the spring. In fact, he matched Peterson’s effort from 2009 with a pair of top-10 finishes in SEC and NCAA Regional competition. Loupe tied for fourth place at the SEC Championships before tying for sixth place individually at the NCAA Central Regional in South Bend, Ind.

Tigers Build Momentum for Postseason with Win at HootieThe LSU golfers led wire-to-wire to capture its third tournament championship of the 2009-10 season at the sixth-annual Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate as it fired a 5-under par 279 in the final round to finish the event with a 54-hole score of 7-under 845 at the par-71 layout at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C. After grabbing a first-round lead with a 4-over 288, the Tigers never looked back as they fired consecutive rounds of 6-under 278 in the second round and 5-under 279 in the final round to capture the team crown by a single stroke over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Sophomore Sang Yi led the way for the Tigers with a career-best third-place finish with a career-low tournament score of 6-under 207.

Tigers, Loupe Take Titles at Louisiana ClassicsAfter opening the final round of the 25th-annual Louisiana Classics in a three-way tie for the top spot in the team standings, the LSU men’s golf team earned a two-shot victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini on the strength of Loupe’s first career individual victory in the 54-hole event held at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette. The Tigers returned to Baton Rouge with their second tournament championship of the 2009-10 campaign after posting a three-round score of even-par 864. Loupe fired back-to-back scores of 5-under 67 in the second and third rounds to defeat

Illinois All-America Scott Langley by one stroke with a career-low tournament score of 8-under 208. Langley would go on to be crowned the NCAA Individual Champion at the end of the 2009-10 season.

LSU Golf Inks Elite Signing Class for 2010While the Tigers competed with one of the more talented teams in the country in 2009-10, LSU head coach Chuck Winstead solidified the future of the program by signing four prep standouts to National Letters of Intent during the fall recruiting period in November 2009. Franco Castro of Alpharetta, Ga., Smylie Kaufman of Birmingham, Ala., Landon Lyons of Baton Rouge, La., and Andrew Presley of Fort Worth, Texas, signed with the Tigers as part of the Class of 2010. Winstead inked one of the premier signing classes in the country as each member ranked among the Top 50 recruits in the country for the Class of 2010.

LSU Captures Team Crown in Fall Finale at David Toms IntercollegiateA total of 14 teams battled it out for 54 holes at the inaugural David Toms Intercollegiate at The Country Club of Louisiana, but it was the homestanding LSU Tigers lifting the championship trophy after earning a thrilling one-stroke victory following the final round in their 2009 fall finale from Oct. 26-27. After teeing off in the final round with a three-shot lead over the rest of the field, the Tigers fired a 2-over par 286 for a three-round score of 8-under 844 to win by a single stroke over Kent State and North Florida. LSU won its first tournament championship of the season and their fourth all-time in events held at The Country Club of Louisiana. The inaugural David Toms Intercollegiate at The Country Club of Louisiana marked the first home event for the Tigers since playing host to the LSU Spring Invitational at the University Club in April 2005. Peterson just missed winning his second career individual title with a 54 hole score 8-under 205 en route to a runner-up finish on the leaderboard.

Tigers Earn Preseason Rankings by Golfweek and Golf WorldThe Tigers kicked off the 2009-10 season ranked among the Top 20 teams in the country as they received a pair of preseason rankings in the weeks leading up to their season opener at the PING/Golfweek Invitational. LSU was tabbed No. 12 nationally in the Golfweek Preseason Top 25 and No. 17 in the Golf World/Nike Golf Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 released prior to the start of the campaign. The Tigers were among seven SEC programs to earn a preseason national ranking as they joined the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee in the preseason polls.

Peterson Advances to Match Play at U.S. AmateurThe LSU men’s golf team has become a staple in the United States Amateur Championship year in and year out, and the 2009 edition was no different as Loupe and Peterson built momentum heading into the collegiate season with their first career appearance in August 2009. Peterson enjoyed an outstanding week of competition at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., as he earned a spot in the match play tournament by finishing in a tie for 45th place in two rounds of stroke play in a field of 312 of the nation’s best amateur golfers. He earned the No. 53 seed with a 36-hole score of 7-over 147 before advancing to the second round of match play. Loupe shot a two-round score of 13-over 153 in stroke play to finish in a tie for 160th place overall.

LSU Golf Honored for Academic Success in 2009-10 SeasonThe Tigers were not only standouts on the golf course during the 2009-10 season as they were also honored for their outstanding effort in the classroom. Prior to the start of the campaign in September 2009, LSU was one of 52 programs from across the country that was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America with the organization’s All-Academic Team award for maintaining a 3.0 cumulative team grade-point average. Not only that, but the men’s golf team was one of three athletic programs at LSU to receive an NCAA Public Recognition Award in May 2010 by finishing in the top 10 percent of men’s golf programs nationally with its Academic Progress Rate (APR).

The Tigers posted a team score of 60-over par 912 to finish the event in 11th place. The Georgia Bulldogs earned a one-shot victory over the homestanding Texas Longhorns with a score of 26-over 878. Junior John Peterson was LSU’s top individual finisher for the event as he tied for 32nd place at 13-over 226.

SEC MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPSApril16-18,2010St.SimonsIsland,Ga.SeaIslandGolfClub(Par70)An LSU Tiger finished among the top five of the leaderboard at the SEC Championships for the second year in a row as junior Andrew Loupe cemented his First-Team All-SEC status by tying for fourth place overall in the nation’s premier conference tournament. After opening with an even-par 70 in the first round, Loupe followed with rounds of 2-under 68 and 1-under 69 for a three-round score of 3-under 207. The Tigers kicked off the champioship season with a fifth-place finish in the event after posting a team score of 16-over 856 in 54 holes. The Georgia Bulldogs defended their team title by five strokes with a 4-over 844. Bulldog standout Russell Henley was also crowned the gold medalist with a score of 6-under 204 for the tournament.

NCAA CENTRAL REGIONALMay20-22,2010SouthBend,Ind.TheWarrenGolfCourse(Par70)The Tigers backed up their fifth-place finish at the 2010 SEC Men’s Golf Championships with a fifth-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Central Regional Championships as they earned an automatic qualifying spot into the 2009-10 season finale at the NCAA Championships. Led by Andrew Loupe’s 2-under par 208, the Tigers punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships with a team score of 7-over 847. Loupe fired rounds of even-par 70, even-par 70 and 2-under 68 to tie for sixth place individually and solidify his status as an All-American. Stanford captured the regional crown by four strokes with a 54-hole team score of 10-under 830.

NCAA MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPSJune1-3,2010Chattanooga,Tenn.TheHonorsCourse(Par72)The Tigers put an exclamation point onto the end of an outstanding 2009-10 campaign with an appearance at the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships, marking their first appearance in the national championship since 1997. Junior All-American John Peterson led LSU to a 24th-place finish in the team standings during the medal rounds as the team posted a 54-hole score of 19-over par 883. Peterson was brilliant throughout the tournament as he finished in a tie for sixth place on the leaderboard with a score of 5-under 211 in three rounds. He became the first LSU Tiger in 19 years to earn a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships since former Tiger standout Perry Moss tied for fourth place in 1991. Augusta State defeated Oklahoma State, 3-1-1, in the final match to win the NCAA title, while Scott Langley of Illinois won the individual crown with a 10-under 206.

SEC GOLFERS ARE LEADERS ON THE LINKS Throughout the rich history of the Southeastern Conference the league has provided a strong tradition of excellence on the links with its men’s golf programs, and the 2009-10 season was no different as LSU, Florida and Tennessee led the charge with an appearance in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships held at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn. Florida earned the highest finish among SEC teams at the NCAA Championships as the Gators just missed qualifying for the eight-team match play tournament for the national championship with an 11th-place tie in three rounds of stroke play. LSU also earned a

24th-place finish in its first NCAA Championships appearance since 1997, while Tennessee followed in a tie for 25th place.

LSU All-American John Peterson also led the charge with the SEC’s best finish in the individual standings as he tied for sixth place on the

leaderboard with a score of 5-under par 211. The conference has captured 10 NCAA team titles in its history with four belonging to both LSU and Florida, while Georgia has added a pair of its own. A total of 44 SEC teams have finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships since 1985.

Individually, the SEC has witnessed six national champions with Florida’s Nick Gilliam being the most recent medalist in 2001. In

addition, 44 individuals have finished in the top 10 of the leaderboard at the NCAA Championships since 1985, which includes Peterson a year ago.
