ITEM Work Health and Safety (WH&S) and Public Risk Management Update. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Board note the information provided on WH&S and Public Risk matters. BACKGROUND The Board has requested information on WH&S and Public Risk matters be presented on a quarterly basis. CURRENT POSITION Workplace Health and Safety The following reports, as compiled by NSW SICorp, are attached:

As at 31 October 2015 three new claims had been lodged since the last reporting period, taking the total for the 2015/16 fiscal year to four.

Actions taken to address the incidence of injury include:

• An investigation into the incident of 14/10/2015 has been undertaken and wood splitting procedures modified.

• Chainsaw Operations Policy and Procedures were finalised. • Board staff and contractors undertook Working at Heights training. • Board staff undertook Rope Access and Trace Training. • Board staff undertook CPR training. • Workplace WH&S matters are addressed at monthly staff unit meetings, including

review of Job Safety Analysis and Hazard Identification. Public Risk Management

• The Board put out a householder on 21/10/2015 advising residents of an Electrical Cable Safety Recall. Subsequent to the householder the cable has been identified in a number of premises.
