Looking for help with your heating bill? The 2017 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program—Crisis Component begins January 9, 2017 and will end March 31, 2017, or until all funds are expended, whichever comes first. Households interested in applying for the program need to contact their local Neighborhood Center to schedule an appointment. The program is open to income eligible households who are responsible for their home heating costs. The Crisis Program DOES require a disconnect notice, a past due bill or for families to be out of bulk fuel. The Crisis Component will require households to meet the crisis definition (disconnect notice on metered utility or within 4 days of running out of bulk heat source) before being eligible for financial assistance. Households must also meet income eligibility guidelines. Staff can NO longer verify this income from bank statements or copy of benefit checks). Proof of all household’s income from the previ-ous month is required.

Current bill or invoice with account number for bulk fuel (propane/fuel oil)

Social Security cards for EVERYONE in home

**Applications are taken by APPOINTMENT but exceptions are made for walk-in situations**
