Abbreviations: Ch = Chain Dc(s) = Double Crochet(s) FPtr = Front Post treble crochet LH = Left Hand RH = Right Hand RS = Right Side Sc = Single Crochet Sk = Skip Sp = Space St(s) = Stitch(es) WS = Wrong Side YO = Yarn Over

Special Stitches: Front Post Treble Crochet (FPtr): YO twice, insert hook from front to back to front around indicated st, YO and draw up a loop, (YO and draw through 2 loops) three times.

Pattern: Ch 66. Row 1 (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across. Turn. Row 2 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout pattern), sk 1st sc (counts as st where ch 3/dc is made), *[Sk 2 sc, Dc in next sc, Ch 1, Dc (behind 1st dc made) in 1st skipped sc]; repeat from * across,

ending with Dc in last sc. Turn. Row 3: Ch 1, Sc in each st and ch sp across. Turn. Row 4: Ch 3, sk 1 sc, *[Sk 2 sc, FPtr around back dc two rows below, Ch 1, Dc in 1st skipped sc]; repeat from * across, ending with Dc in last sc. Turn. Repeat Rows 3 & 4 for 68 more repeats (rows 3 & 4 together are counted as 1 repeat), ending with one final repeat of Row 3. Finishing: Finish off yarn, block to measurements and weave in ends. Stitching Notes: Row 2 sets up the main part of the st repeat, both for the regular Dcs in row 2 and the FPtr that are made in the rest of the pattern. For RH Stitchers: The 1st st made in the st pattern will always be the st in the front, and when the crossed sts are finished, it will always lean to the right. After chaining, the dc st that is made is stitched behind the 1st st that was made, and will lean to the left. Starting with Row 4 and all other even numbered rows, the FPtr is always made around the backside, left leaning dc.

For LH Stitchers: The 1st st made in the st pattern will always be the st in the front, and when the crossed sts are finished, it will always lean to the left. After chaining, the dc st that is made is stitched behind the 1st st that was made, and will lean to the right. Starting with Row 4 and all other even numbered rows, the FPtr is always made around the backside, right leaning dc.
