Lets learn more about the longhouses!

• Longhouses are houses made out of wood and sticks and lots of other things in nature.

• Up to 20-30 families could live in a longhouse. That would be almost every family in your class their mom dad and siblings.

• The Native Americans lived in longhouses in the eastern woodlands.

What did every one do?

• In a longhouse every one helped out not like now a days when the parents do all the work and the kids watch tv.

• Even the kids did things. The kids mostly learned skills that will help them when they grow up like sewing, hunting , cooking and other things like that.

• Parents well, they split up the men hunted and the women raised the children, cooked and sewed.

Did the kids play on their Xbox?

• Native children did not have an Xbox or the things we do now like cars , electronics and stoves.

• Imagine your mother not cooking dinner on the stove cooking over a nice warm fire. That is what these kids had and I wasn’t mac-cheese it was whatever the men brought home from hunting.
