Norm Perry and I have many photos of you coming across the finish line.. He has turned over gigabits of pho-tos for the LVDC website and news-letter. But I’m still trying to figure out how to get them off my Samsung camera. Lastly, LVDC annual elections are in November for anyone interested in be-ing on the Board of Directors. There is a need for a Public Relations, Historian, and Membership Director. Board mem-bers are willing to mentor interested members.

Another successful Half-Marathon & 5K concluded on Sat-urday, 26 Sep 15! The event raised funding for the Nancy Perry College Scholarships that will be awarded next spring to students at both local High Schools. A check for $1,200 was awarded to the California State Park for use of the La Purisima Mission trails and parking area. The crew at the B-B-Que pro-vided 200 chicken dinners that consisted of 137 runners/walkers, their familes, and event volun-teers. Please contact Betty Lee or me about any concerns or ideas that you would like to bring into this event.

course winds through the

beautiful neighborhoods of

Shell Beach with incredible

views of the Pacific Ocean.

There is one challenging

climb on this otherwise gentle

course. Start time is 7:30 AM

After the race, relax on the

bluffs by the ocean listening

to live music, perusing the

expo booths, dining on deli-

cious (and well-earned) break-

fast, and participating in fit-

ness activities with your kids.

Buses and shuttles will take

you back to the start-line area

in San Luis Obispo, or to

Pismo Beach City Hall. You

may also arrange for your

own private transportation if

you prefer. Entry Fees: Thru 9/6/15: Half -

$80, 5K $35, 9/7—10/4: Half - $90,

5K—$40. after 10/4 to race day

The City to the Sea half mara-

thon course is a point-to-point

race that starts in downtown San

Luis Obispo. The course winds

through the city, takes runners

along scenic backroads, includ-

ing the Bob Jones Trail, and ends

alongside the Pacific Ocean,

with incredible view of the Pa-

cific Ocean, in the coastal com-

munity of Pismo Beach. Start

time is 7:00 AM

The 5k course (3.1 miles) is out-

and-back and begins and ends in

Pismo Beach at Dinosaur Caves

This race will be held at Ni-

pomo Regional Park at Tefft &

Pomeroy. The four mile course

is out and back and there is a

two mile walk over the same

route with an earlier turnaround.

There will be no awards at this

non-competitive run but there

will be raffle prizes (with the

drawing at 8:30 AM prior to the

race) and post-race refresh-

ments. Proceeds benefit youth

programs in Nipomo through

the South County Youth Coali-

tion and the Nipomo Recreation

ANNUAL MARATHON, HALF

MARATHON, & 5K:

This event will be held at LeVigne Win-

ery at 5115 Buena Vista Road in Paso

Robles with beau-

tiful views of the

countryside and

wine vineyards at

harvest time.

The morning’s

races include a full

marathon, half

marathon, and a

5K. The marathon and half will begin at

7:00 AM while the 5K starts at 8:00 AM.

All net proceeds benefit the Paso Robles

High School Boosters. Tech shirts and

goodie bags to all entrants, finisher med-

als to all marathoners, and awards to the

top three in each age category.

A fun and challenging course

on the dirt trails and grass.

Benefiting the Adolfo Cama-

rillo High School Cross Country

Team. Part of the SOAR Trail

Run Series The race is at Mis-

sion Oaks Park and the closest

address to the park is Las Coli-

nas Middle School located at

5750 Fieldcrest Drive Cama-

rillo, CA 93012. The start/finish

area is just past the school. Rec-

ommended event parking is on

site at Mission Oaks Park on the

Fieldcrest Drive side of the

park. There is also parking on

the Mission Oaks Blvd side of

the park. Price: $25.00 Race

minimal climbing and runs along

the bluff. For sweeping views of

try the 7 mile course that brings

you up the 1,347-foot Valencia

Peak. The 25 km course consists

of two loops, the 7 mi route and

then head out to the 1076-foot

grassy summit of Hazard Peak.

the 25 Km route twice for a 50

Km day!

4 Miler. The flat and fast course stands apart from local runs with a

straight away start down Hollister Avenue to Turnpike and then along

treed bike paths and finally through a local neighborhood finishing in

Thunderbird Park just off Walnut Avenue. ON LINE Registration
