Rubber Band 1(Hook the ends into L Clips on either side)

Rubber Band 2: Use a really short rubber band and loop inside beam and around H Clip -- the rubber band should be in tension so that the locking mechanism keeps the launcher locked.

1. Congratulations! You have completed a build of a crossbow. Now, hold the crossbow in one hand, and move the top bar of the locking mechanism sideways gently so that the spacer attached to the rod flange assembly can move freely.

2. The rod flange assembly should move and impact against the pinion-rod assembly in the front, thus launching it forward.

3. If the pinion-rod does not move well, repeat above steps, and hold the crossbow at a higher angle before releasing the lock.

4. How can you modify the design so that your arrow can go farther?

5. Can you change the design of this crossbow to launch more than one arrow at the same time?
