BLOCK ASSEMBLY1. CORNER BLOCKS: Sew together (1)A 3 ½” x 3 ½” square and (1)F 3 ½” x 6 ½” rectangle. Make 2.

2. Sew (1)F 3 ½” square to each side of (1)A 3 ½” square.

3. Sew the units made in steps 1 and 2 to complete 1 CORNER BLOCK. Repeat to make a total of 4 corner blocks. Square to 9 ½”.

6. BLOCK C: Sew the following 3 ½” squares together as shown to create NINE PATCH BLOCK C. Square each block to 9 ½”. Make 1 of each block.

STAR BLOCK: 7. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1)C 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” square. Place square, right sides together, at a corner of (1)B 2 ¾” x 5” rectangle. Sew on drawn line. Trim 1/4” away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal corner triangle. Repeat with another C 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” square at the other corner of the same B 2 ¾” x 5” rectangle to complete 1 CB UNIT. Square to 2 ¾” x 5”. Make 4.

FINISHING : Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess

batting and backing. Bind as usual.
