QUILT ASSEMBLY

1. Sew (1) 2” x 11” F piece between (2) 11” A squares. Make (2). Sew (1) 2” x 23” F strip length-wise between the two units.

2. Sew 2-1/4” x 23” F strips to oppposite sides of the unit from step 1. Sew 2-1/4” x 26-1/2” Fstrips to the top and bottom to complete the 26-1/2” square quilt center.

3. Sew (1) each 2-1/2” x WOF B, C and D strips together lengthwise to make a strip set. Make (3). Note: One strip set will be made with slightly shorter C and D strips. Crosscut a total of (8)6-1/2” x 13-1/2” segments.

4. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (8) 6-1/2” F squares. Position a marked square rightsides together on the right end of a pieced segment. Stitch on the drawn line, trim seam allow-ance to ¼”, and press open. Repeat to make a total of (4) right triangle pieced segments.

5. In the same way, noting orientation of the marked square and positioning it on the left end of the pieced segment, make a total of (4) left triangle pieced segments.

6. Sew (1) left pieced segment to (1) right pieced segment to make a pieced side border. Make(4) pieced side borders.

7. To make a pieced corner unit, sew (1) 2-1/2” B square to (1) 2-1/2 C square. Sew (1) 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” B piece to the right side. Sew (1) 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” D piece to the top, and (1) 2-1/2” x 6-1/2” D piece to the right side. Make a total of (4) 6-1/2” square pieced corner units.

8. Sew pieced side borders to opposite sides of the quilt center.

9. Sew pieced corner units to opposite ends of the remaining pieced side borders. Sew the pieced units to the top and bottom of the quilt center.

10. Sew 2” x WOF F strips to opposite sides of (1) 3-1/2” x LOF E strip to make a pieced outer border strip. Trim to measure 38-1/2” long. Make a total of (4) pieced outer border strips.

11. Sew pieced outer border strips to opposite sides of the quilt. Sew 6-1/2” A squares to both ends of the remaining outer border strips and sew to the top and bottom of the quilt.
