Reading 1: Isaiah 35:1-6a, 10 Reading 2: James 5:7-10
Gospel: Matthew 11:2-11
The Prince of Peace community would like to extend our sympathy to Deidre Allison and her family
on the death of her mother, June Bishop Rogers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Stewardship: Parishioners Answering God’s Call Three years ago, a parishioner tragically lost a daughter who was the mother to a toddler and infant. The parishioner struggled with the various stages of grief which included abandoning church for a period of time. Eventually, she found the strength she needed through prayer and the help of friends and family to resume normal activities. She has a non-Catholic friend who is experiencing some difficulty in her life. The parishioner has reached out to her to invite her to participate in the Parish Day of Service and to also encourage her to explore the Catholic faith. The parishioner is both a recipient and provider of Christian kindness.
Please submit your stewardship story examples to [email protected]. They may be edited for space consideration.
Donations For donations to be posted in 2013, they must be received in the office by December 31, 2013. End of the year statements will be mailed out in January of 2014. Thank you for your continued financial support to Prince of Peace.
Poinsettias Parishioners are invited to help decorate the church for Christmas by purchasing poinsettia plants. Poinsettias may be purchased in “memory of” or in “honor of” a loved one. Cost is $25 per plant. Please call the parish office at 205.822.9125 to place your order.

Casting Lots for the Seamless Garment (John 19:23-24)
A Prayer by Samuel Pugh
O God, when I have food...help me to remember the hungry; When I have work...help me to remember the jobless; When I have a home...help me to remember those who have no home at all; When I am without pain...help me to remember those who suffer, And remembering….help me to destroy my complacency; Bestir my compassion; and be concerned enough to help; By word and deed...those who cry out for what we take for granted.
