Preliminary work

• A litle delay due to tools preparation• A long list of tasks

– Restart the system as it was in NA48 (two racks only)– Rewire the Fastbus branches for the expected configuration– Test the 2012 configuration– Install the new trigger system: TELL1 + TALK– Run the new configuration

• Adjust the timing

– In parallel, new version of the SLM readout software• Event format• Zero suppression• Addition of time stamps to the events• I/F with Control Program and L1/L2 software• Resume NA48 calibration software

Calibration system

• Calibration system refurbishment– Expected to have a new hardware

• TALK board + VME I/O registers

– Possibility to test already (partial/total) the new system in the dry run• Interferences with the old driving software• Done if there is some spare time• Few connector adapters needed

• The most likely option is to test the TALK board to generate the pulse sequence and move the DAC/pulser control to VME later

Run goals

• Main goals– Validate zero

suppression algorithms in SLM PCs• Migrate to CREAMs

– Study the effects of an intense beam• Space charge effects in the

hot spot• Use possibly a downscaled

photon trigger• Resurrect neutral

hodoscope?

– Prepare monitor and calibration tools
