must think systematically and understand the critical role of each ingredient.

• The fish nibble on the old plant life including algae

.• In turn, the fish produce waste that, along with other forms of natural debris, fall to the pond’s bottom

2Rocks & GravelRocks and gravel protect pond liners from UV light degradation. They also provide tremendous surface area for beneficial bacteria to break down excess nutrients in the water and dissolve organic debris on the pond floor.

3Recirculation SystemThis is really just a fancy way of saying “pumps and plumbing.” The proper size pump and pipe diameter are extremely important for the aesthetics of a water feature. More importantly, an efficient circulation system will keep the water moving and provide the necessary oxygen levels for healthy fish, plants, and beneficial bacteria.

4FishFish are an integral part of any ecosystem. Unfortunately, fish are often seen as high maintenance. Contrary to popular belief, fish actually reduce maintenance as they graze on string algae and bottom feed from the pond floor. They also make very enjoyable pets, providing hours of natural entertainment.

5Aquatic PlantsMother Nature’s true filters, plants are great for adding character to a pond by providing color and texture, but from a filtration perspective, they’re second to none. When given proper coverage, aquatic plants thrive from the excess nutrients in an ecosystem pond and deprive algae of its food source. Because of this, aquatic plants are critical for the overall health of the ecosystem.

Filtration SystemUtilizes both a biological and a mechanical filter. A BioFalls® (biological filter) provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and remove excess nutrients from the water. A Skimmer (mechanical filter) will not only pre-filter the water and house the pump; it will also skim debris from the water’s surface to prevent excess accumulation of organic materials on the pond floor. Skimmers are also super effective at preventing mosquitoes from breeding.

Infinity Waterfalls are simply a recirculating waterfall and/or stream without the presence of a pond. You can enjoy the sight and sound of running water with virtually no maintenance. If space is lacking in your yard or you have safety concerns with a pond, go with Infinity Waterfalls! Our two waterfall packages are designed to fit each individual client’s desires and can range in size anywhere up to a long sixteen foot stream.

Fish are the jewels of the water garden! Everyone who has koi loves the joy of feeding them, watching them swim through caves and waterfalls, and even naming them. Koi and goldfish come in every color and shape, including some with long, graceful fins. They come in a wide variety of sizes and thrive in all outdoor environments. Fish are not only friendly and beautiful, they are also low maintenance pets.

What’s the difference between koi and goldfish?While part of the same family of fish (Cyprinidae), koi grow larger & come in a wider array of colors. Goldfish are primarily red, orange to yellow and can cost less.How big can koi get?They can grow in relation to their nutrition, water conditions, and are also affected by their genetics. Koi get large regardless of pond size, can get to sizes in excess of 2 feet, and can breed by the time they reach 5” - 6” in length.What is the difference in butterfly & standard koi?Butterfly koi are premium fish who have long, flowing fins with the beautiful markings of standard koi. What happens to fish in the colder winter months?Dormancy occurs during the winter, once water temperatures drop below 50ºF. This is also the point at which they should stop being fed. As long as the pond does not freeze to the bottom (very rare for southeast US) and an airhole is provided on the pond’s surface, your fish will survive the winter. Healthy water is critical to fish health, so keep your pond filtered both mechanically & biologically.

Protecting your pets is important. We all cherish them and your fish will quickly become a part of the family. A fish cave will help protect your new pets from predators while also offering a cool shelter during hot summer days. PlantsAdd yourPond Enhancement

Aquatic plants aren’t just used to provide beauty and naturalization, but they also serve the very important function of helping to balance the pond ecosystem. Their valuable biological filtration helps remove nitrogen, ammonia, nitrates, and other minerals that algae would otherwise feed on. In addition, the plants provide food, shade, and protection for the fish and wildlife that live in and around the pond.

Water lilies are available in hardy and tropical varieties. They both come in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. The leaves provide fish with shade from the heat of the summer sun, cooling the water, and making algae control easier too.

Plant placement:• Waterlilies and Oxygenators are placed submerged into the water.• Floaters sit on top of a pond. They consist of water lettuce & hyacinth (which blooms a flower).• Marginals can sit in the shallow ledges of a pond or be planted near the outside edge.

WarrantyRelax withPeace of MindWe pride ourselves in offering the best products and services. Because of this, we can offer the best warranties in the industry. All of our AquascapePro® Signature™ Series filters and skimmers come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Our liners offer a limited 20 year warranty against failure. Since liners only deteriorate from the sun’s UV rays,

we cover the entire liner with boulders and river gravel for added protection. This provides not only natural beauty, but also protects your liner from cuts, tears, and UV rays.

Our AquaSurge™ pump line is the most energy efficient line on the market and also has the best warranty at 3 years with full

replacement. Our plumbing lines are PVC flex pipe that have been tested 50º below zero, full of

water, and will not crack or burst.

We also offer a full one year warranty on all materials and workmanship in the water garden installation. This includes material failure, leak repair, and any labor cost incurred for repairs. This warranty gets upgraded to two years as a member of our V.I.Pond Star program which is given to Tranquility, Serenity, and Infinity Waterfall package customers.

ParadisePondOur exclusive Paradise Pond package is an optional monthly service add-on that protects your investment by providing monthly visits to your home and making sure your pond is running perfectly. We also include both of our seasonal cleanout services plus all water treatments.

This extended warranty program provides free lifetime replacement of any part and accessory in your pond installation.*

*Available as a monthly fee to customers who live within a 50 mile radius of Living Waterscapes retail location. A 12 month contract is required at time of signup. Monthly visits, seasonal service, & lifetime warranty is included for as long as the customer is enrolled and current on payment.
