UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH “I work with dairy cows to research their lactation habits. This field work corresponds with my major and with everything I’m learning in the classroom. My research gives me the opportunity to do what I love most: get out to the dairy for direct, hands-on work with cows.”

Ahmerah Thompson(Dairy Science)

GETTING INVOLVED“I became a CALS Ambassador because I wanted to encourage prospective students to come to Virginia Tech so they could have amazing experiences like I have. As an ambassador and a member of the Crops Judging Team, I’m able to share my passion for agriculture, while learning, growing, traveling, and meeting new people.”

Lucy Adamson (Crop and Soil Science)

STUDY ABROAD “I studied at one of the top universities in the world and was able to develop a flexible course plan based on my interests. Eleven months in Munich was not nearly long enough. The college provides exceptional programs and support to make studying abroad possible.”

Colburn Hassman (Agribusiness)

CALS COMMUNITY “Every day is different. The community is so encompassing, and I feel like I could choose a million career paths with my degree alone. We are one community made up of many, so there is always room to grow. I love CALS because of the people. The faculty members genuinely want us to succeed and provide us with opportunities to explore what we want to do.”

Kaitlyn Gallagher (Biochemistry and Spanish)
