Good Evening and Welcome!

For six generations Louisa May Alcott's Little Women has been a favorite among children and adults alike for its les-sons on courage through adversity and the triumph of family love. This touching tale tells the story of the four March girls-Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy--and their struggles with love and loss during The Civil War. While waiting for their father to return from the war, each of the girls must overcome their own char-acter flaws to persevere through the hard times. Meg has her vanity and Jo her tomboyish ways and quick temper; Beth is extremely shy, and Amy is selfish and pretentious. Under the loving eye of their mother, the girls learn to overcome their differences and flaws, and they join together to support the family and keep their hopes alive, forming a picture of a happy home. But when Laurie, the handsome grandson of a rich neighbor steps into the picture, romance and rivalry almost tear the sisters apart. Laughs are shared, lessons are learned, and tears are cried all while the girls strive to become Little Women.

The Prexie Performers have worked exceptionally hard on this production and have been dedicated since the first day of try-outs. It was a pleasure to work with each one of the actors as they grew into the characters and made the script come alive. Although I have been working with The Prexie Performers for several years, this is my first production serving as Student Director and I couldn't have been blessed with a better and more dedicated cast. Even though tensions were sometimes high on the set, everyone pulled together and came through. I am extremely proud of everyone who worked on the Little Women cast and crew, and I would like to wish the best of luck to them. It's our pleasure for you to be here this evening, so sit back and enjoy the show!
