Garage Sale for Relay For Life

Mark your calendars and plan to come out and join us on Saturday, April 28. We will be hold a church-wide garage sale. Also, we are looking for items to sell. So, if you have full closets or a garage you can’t park in, we will be taking donated items beginning today!

Please place all donated items in the old kitchen. Thank you!

Thank You

A big thank you to Little Prairie for the use of your building for our meeting. It was greatly appreciated. ~Wabash/Edwards Retired Teachers Association

Did Someone Say, “PIE”? Most all of us like pie, and we’ll have a chance to eat a lot of it if we work together. The current debt on our newest addition is $628,178.29. We have come up with a creative financial initiative to pay off that debt as quickly as possible. P.I.E. is that initiative and it stands for “Pay It Early”. By paying off the debt early, we will save thousands of dollars in interest fees. Each “slice” (and the “pan”) on the P.I.E. poster represents a $50,000 interval. To celebrate each $50,000 that is raised, we will have a pie/ice cream social. In fact, our first pie social will be at the $600,000 mark. Please do not substitute this giving for your regular Sunday morning offering. Trust God to provide for your needs as you give. Designate your P.I.E. gifts to the “building fund”. So, help us take a “slice” out of our mortgage.

Passover Seder

On Palm Sunday evening, April 1, at 6:30 p.m. we are going to have a special opportunity to get a “taste” of what the Passover meal was like. Aaron McCaleb will be leading us through the Passover traditions and we’ll be sampling some of the Jewish foods used. The Passover has so much meaning for us as Christians because Christ was foretold throughout the meal. There will be no youth groups that night so that all ages can participate in this special time (and also share communion together.) We ask that at least one parent attend with your children, since there will not be adult supervision. Come enjoy this special family service together.

Prairie Church Throwback: Project April Our next Throwback service project for the entire church to get involved in is a benefit fundraiser for Sharlyn Ellis who was recently diagnosed with cancer. We are selling pork chops, pork burgers, and BBQ on the Albion square by the pagoda on Saturday, March 31, beginning at 11 AM. Cost is free-will donation. Below are the ways you can help. Donate your time: * We need set-up crews who will help get tables & cookers ready for the event. *We need tear-down crews who will help clean & bring tables, etc. back to church. *We need serving crews-individuals who will help wrap sandwiches & fill orders. *We need cooking crews-individuals who will assist with cooking the chops & burgers (the BBQ will be prepared the day before). *We need advertising crews-individuals who will hold signs by the four-way to advertise the event during the event. These crews can be youth or adults. *See sign-up sheet in Worship Center foyer. Donate money: *We need funds to cover the cost of the meat, wrappers, condiments, etc. *Any money that is raised beyond the expense of the event will go directly to Sharlyn as part of the money raised during the event. *Please place all donations in the fishbowl in the Worship Center foyer. If you have any further questions, contact Linda Duncan (445-2946) or Lesa Shilling (445-9986).
