Cathedral Square

Vilnius - Lithuanian capital and largest city in the country.

Its name was first mentioned in 1323 in the letters of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas

inviting craftsmen, merchants and monks from Western Europe to come and stay here.

Kaunas Old Town

Kaunas is the second largest city and the former Lithuanian temporary capital.

It is the third largest city in Lithuanian.

Popular seaside resorts found close to Klaipėda are Nida to the south on the Curonian Spit, and Palanga to the north.

Forests in Lithuania cover approximately 32% of Lithuania′s territory

Of these, about 50% are publicly-owned, and 31% are privately-owned;

the remainder is reserved for possible future privatization. The Dainava Forest is the largest forest in Lithuania.

Located in Dzukija region in southern Lithuania, it covers the total area of 1,450 km2 (560 sq mi)

of which 1,145 km2 (442 sq mi) is covered by trees.

A of the forest is protected by the Dzukija National Park.

Elektrėnai Reservoir located south of the city of Elektrenai, Lithuania, is the third-biggest artificial lake in Lithuania. It was created in 1961 by damming the Streva River.
