(54) Liquid fuel and water injection purge system and method for a gas turbine

(57) A liquid fuel purge (104) system is disclosed forflushing liquid fuel from the combustion chambers (118)of a gas turbine (100). The liquid purge system includesa three-way valve (400) to pass liquid fuel and, alterna-

tively, purge air to the combustion chambers. The gasturbine may operate on liquid fuel or gaseous fuel. Whenthe turbine is switched to burn gaseous fuel, the liquidfuel remaining in the liquid fuel system is flushed bypurge air provided by a liquid fuel purge system.
