1-1. Concept of Water Jet Cleaning

Concept of Water Jet Cleaning‘Water Jet Cleaning System’ refers to the process of compressing water up to

super high pressure (maximum 4,000kg/cm2; 4,000bar/ about 60,000PSI) and

shooting it out to cut and/or clean the object. The nozzle converts the rest

energy of the water to kinetic energy so that the water shot could exceed

sonic speed, and focus on a specific spot for the maximum effect.

WATER JET CLEANING

The Diesel Engine of the system drives the Water Jet Pump to compress the

water up to approximately 500-2,700bar for cleaning. The construction of the

system are the following:

FLEXIBLE LANCE SYSTEM

High Pressure Pump (500bar to 1,200bar) is used to clean the object which is not hardened.

Lance, which is the thin hose placed in the tube up to the nozzle and about 10 meter- length, is

the flexible type. Rigid type can never be used.


RIGID LANCE SYSTEM

Super High Pressure Pump (maximum pressure is 2,500bar and above) is used to clean the

object which is hard or severely clogged. Due to the super high pressure, flexible lance can

never be used for this type of system. Instead, rigid lance is used, which is a thin pipe of 10

meter-length up the nozzle and exchangeable by different length.


ROTO-FAN SYSTEM

Roto-Fan System is used for cleaning inside of the pipe which the internal diameter

is 100m/m to 1,200m/m and maximum length 150 meter.


P T C ROBOT SYSTEM

1) It automatically cleans the internal and external of heat exchanger.2) A cleaning center can be set up in a specific place of the factory so that heat exchanger bundle will be the hub of cleaning which enables cleaning process to be conducted only at such place.

3) Automatic process demands less labor. More work can be done in a limited time so that competitiveness is obtained.

4) RTC Robot cannot shoot out the water by itself. Therefore, two (2) jet cleaners are needed when an internal and external PTC Robots are set up together.5) It is mainly used for oil refineries to clean a large heat exchanger.
