Blue Raider Basketball NotesLindsey Wilson-Berea All-Time SeriesLindsey Wilson and Berea meet for the 22nd time since LWC be-came a four-year institution. The Mountaineers own a 14-7 all-time advantage over their host, including a 6-4 mark at Biggers Sports Center. Prior to the Nov. 16 game, Lindsey Wilson and Berea had not met on the hardwood since the 1996-97 season. The Blue Raid-ers have lost two straight in the series.

Looking for Fifth StraightLindsey Wilson is in search of their fifth straight win tonight. With the win, the Blue Raiders would enjoy their longest winning streak since the 2008-09 season when Lindsey Wilson won 11 consecutive games.

Peck Nears Win 200 at Lindsey WilsonWhile Lindsey Wilson head coach Paul Peck has 425 wins in his coaching career, he is nearing a milestone for his tenure with the Blue Raiders. Peck owns 189 wins entering tonight’s game -- the most in LWC men’s basketball history. He is 11 wins shy of 200 for his Lindsey Wilson College career.

Busy Week Begins TonightTonight’s game kicks off a very busy week for the Blue Raiders. Fol-lowing the game with Berea, Lindsey Wilson opens Mid-South Con-ference play on Thursday at MSC newcomer University of Virginia’s College at Wise. On Saturday, the Blue Raiders face Pikeville College at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center in Pikeville.

Defense, Defense, DefenseLindsey Wilson leads the MSC and is seventh in the National Asso-ciation of Intercollegiate Athletics in scoring defense, holding their opponents to 59.3 points per game this season. The Blue Raiders rank second in the conference and 22nd nationally limiting their op-ponents to 37.8 percent shooting from the field.

Cleaning the GlassLindsey Wilson also leads the MSC and is third in the NAIA in re-bounding margin -- out-rebounding the opposition by 15.5 re-bounds per game.

Thieves in the HouseLindsey Wilson’s Justin Archie and Berea’s Darrin Dorsey rank among the NAIA’s best in steals this season. Archie ranks fourth in NAIA Division I with a 3.2 steals per game average, while Dorsey is third in NAIA Division II at 3.4 steals per game.

Recipe for SuccessLindsey Wilson’s success under coach Paul Peck’s revolves around two numbers, 70 and 50. When the Blue Raiders score 70 points in Peck’s eight-plus years, Lindsey Wilson is 138-15. Additionally, the Blue Raiders are 75-8 under Peck when they shoot 50 percent or better from the field. This season, LWC is 4-0 when scoring 70 points and 2-0 when shooting 50 percent.

Outstanding Senior CampaignBerea’s Darrin Dorsey is off to an incredible start in his final season. Dorsey is eighth in NAIA Division II with a 24.3 points per game average and 17th in the nation averaging five assists per contest. He has connected on 54.2 percent of his shots from the field this season, including 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

  • Head Coach Paul Peck

Coach Paul Peck enters his ninth season as the Lindsey Wilson College men’s basketball coach in 2010-11. He has led the Blue Raiders to a 189-82 record since returning to the program he once coached as a junior college in the late 1970s.

Peck is 425-281 overall enter-ing his 23rd season as a head coach. He is 311-214 against senior college competition during his head coaching career.

The Blue Raiders have reached the NAIA National Tournament five of the eight years under Peck, including a pair of Elite Eight appearances.

Peck has guided the Blue Raid-ers to a pair of Mid-South Conference Tournament titles and shared the program’s only MSC regular-season crown in 2004-05.

Peck is a three-time Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year. He shared the 2002-03 and 2003-04 awards and was the lone MSC Coach of the Year in 2004-05.

The Blue Raiders earned the program’s first-ever NAIA No. 1 rank-ing during Peck’s tenure in the 2003-04 season after starting the season 22-0. That season, the Blue Raiders won a program-record 33 games.

Prior to coming to Lindsey Wil-son, Peck had stints at Cumberland University, Kentucky State University and Panola Junior College. He also served as assistant coach at NCAA institutions Middle Tennessee State University, University of Mississippi and Western Kentucky University.
