Dear Parents/Caregivers
Thanks to all the grandparents, friends and families
who came along to make Friday such a fantastic day.
Thanks to all the students who prepared the delicious
morning tea with the produce from our garden.
Thanks to Bu Annie for putting the day together.
Thanks to all the parents and staff, who helped put an
added shine on the day. The highlights were certainly
the school choir and band when they sang the
Grandparents song that was written by our own Pak
Chris. Thanks to Pak Chris and Bu Rebecca for your
support of the performing arts. It is great to see the
numbers in our school choir growing and the
confidence in the skills of the band at various
performances.
Thanks to Karen Fenley for supporting the Indonesian
program while Pak Mur and Bu Bibi have been on
leave.
Congratulations to Lyndsey Caldecott who has been
successful in being selected by an external expert
panel on the strength of her data set to enter the next
phase of the Mastery of Teaching Program. She will
be supported to gain Highly Accomplished teacher
accreditation within a twelve month timeframe. Go
Lyndsey!
Thanks, yaarri yaraang, terima kasih.

Grandparents Day and Book Fair Parade
My grandmother - She is like no other
She lets me daydream then she gives me ice cream
She’s my, my grandmother
My grandfather - Or grandpa if you’d rather
He loves to eat scones cheering the Sydney Swans
He’s my, my grandfather
Now there’s nothing you wouldn’t do
So we sing this song for you
My cool grandma - She’s a bedroom rock star
She sings me to sleep when I’m done counting sheep
She’s my, my sweet grandma
My cool grand pop - waiting for me at the bus stop
He loves playing games & he knows my friends’ names
He’s my, my cool grand pop
Now there’s nothing you wouldn’t do
So we sing this song for you.
You are kind and - You are sweet
You’ve got slippers - On your feet
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents. -
Grandparents
You are always - There for me
You’re my favourite - Retiree
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents. -
Grandparents
Grandparents Song My sweet granny - Sweeter than a frangipani
Look in her eyes an angel in disguise
She’s my, my sweet granny
My fun granddad - You know his jokes aren’t too bad.
He’s so much to teach when we’re down at the beach
He’s my, my fun granddad.
Now there’s nothing you wouldn’t do
So we sing this song for you.
You are kind and - You are sweet
You’ve got slippers - On your feet
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents.
Grandparents
You are always - there for me
You're my favourite - retiree
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents.
Grandparents
You are kind and - You are sweet
You’ve got slippers - On your feet
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents.
Grandparents
You are always - there for me
You're my favourite - retiree
You’re our super hard-working, kind, intelligent grandparents.
And we love you.

Munro in 2005.
Neridah and Trent will be part of a LASH presentation on surfing
organised by the Scotts Head Boardriders (SHB).
Butch Borthwick will tell us the history of SHB before 2000, a period
that featured Neridah, Trent, Asher Pacey, Paul Evans, Ben Evans and
Justin Walsh.
Then Steve Perry will chronicle SHB’s history from 2000 until now, a
history that includes Aaron Schmidt, Jack Lynch, Casper Ellitson,
Mitch O’Grady, TK Kinnerson and more recently Coco Beeby, Nina
Lawson, Madeline Munro, Avalon and Sandon.
To finish the night we will show a movie made by the world renowned
Jack McCoy who is soon to move to Way Way. What a line-up!

Meal: South African fare - served from 6 to 7pm. $29/head
Time of talk: 7 to 8.30 pm
Michael Blockey, LASH co-ordinator (65697577)
We fall into two broad groups on the subject of climate
change. Half the people are overwhelmed by the dire
predictions of its effects and can see no solutions. Their
response is to deny it is happening. The other half of us
want to do something to lessen the effects of climate
change but don’t really know what to do.
The documentary 2040 provides solutions. Damon
Gameau, the maker of That Sugar Film, travelled the
world searching for solutions that are being tried now,
solutions that will be widely used in 2040.
2040 is a truly inspirational film. It will be shown in
Scotts Head.
When: Friday 20 September
Where: LLL Centre at the Scotts Head Public School
Time: 7-8.30 pm showing time followed by discussion
and coffee/tea
Cost: Gold coin donation
