Selection Process at HIE:It must be clearly understood that not every child is capable of cracking

the IIT Exam. The question then is: How do we know who is capable and

who isn’t?

A. Basic attributes needed in a student aspiring for IIT:

1. Must have undergone some IIT Foundation coaching from classth 7 onwards - To strengthen basics in Mathematics and Science.

2. Must be focused and willing to study for about 12-14 hours daily.

3. Must be a go-getter who is inquisitive and thinks beyond what is

taught in the classroom.

4. Must not only be a hard worker but also a smart worker.

5. Must be willing to forego comforts & luxuries to achieve goal.

B. HIE’s Entrance Test:

To screen out prospective IIT candidates we have an extensive

selection process:

I. A special test is conducted to gauge strength and shortcomings in

students. Analytical ability, problem solving skills and

conceptual understanding are tested.

II. Personal Interview of the student with Top-IIT Faculty to

understand the mindset of the student and to know if he is

competent to pursue this highly challenging IIT Program.

Segregation after 2-Months into the IIT Program:IIT Program is an intense exercise. The child has to be alert for over 14

hours in a day. He is required to follow the lectures and take tests every

week. Focused self-study after class hours holds the key to an

extraordinary performance.

Admission Process for the IIT:An MPC student has to compulsorily write 2 entrance exams after

10+2 (or after 2 years of Intermediate) to be eligible for admission into

one of the IITs

1. IIT JEE Mains

Pre-requisite: Must have passed 10+2 (or after 2 years of

Intermediate)

Nature of Test: Challenging, requires hard work

Tests conceptual understanding of students

Questions are mostly application based

2. IIT JEE Advanced

Pre-requisite: Must have passed 10+2 (or after 2 years of

Intermediate)

Must have qualified in IIT JEE - MAINS

Challenging, requires dedication and focusNature of Test:

Questions are purely application based

A question may require knowledge of 2 to 3

concepts from different topics in all the three

subjects. In-depth knowledge is tested

Students take time to adjust to the teaching environment and to perform

to their optimum levels. They are given (2)two months to prove

themselves after which, based on weekly test results, class

performance and attitude towards learning etc., a batch of 40 students

is segregrated. These are the most deserving candidates who can take

up the challenge of becoming an IITian.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is an institute of prime national importance which

produces engineers and scientists of high caliber. There are no parallels to either the

kind of infrastructure it facilitates or the quality of education it imparts. Those inducted

crore offer from Facebook which is the highest ever across all IITs).

A professionally designed program that is implemented with utmost precision is our

driving force. A regular follow-up and vigil is maintained by the Academic Team

which monitors performance of every student. Accountability of each child that

When HIE was conceptualized as an institute that produces leaders, we were sure that our focus would

leaders with intellect would be able to serve the community and the country better.
