Refund PoliciesSatisfaction GuaranteeThe Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department is committedto providing high quality recreation programs and services. Wewant everyone to be satisfied with their recreational experiences.If you are not completely satisfied with a program or service, youhave the following options:

1) Repeat the program at no charge2) Receive credit that can be applied to another program3) Receive a full refund

Our guarantee is based on fulfilling our promise of deliveringthe published expectations describing the particular programyou registered for. If you are not satisfied, we kindly askthat you complete a refund request form (available atwww.recreation.lwd.org and in the Parks and RecreationDepartment office).

General RefundsGeneral refunds will be granted when requested five full workingdays before the start of a program. All refunds are subject to a10% administrative fee and will bemailed in the form of a checkwithin 4-6 weeks of your request, or a credit to be used toward afuture program. Charges cannot be reversed on credit cards.

Medical/RelocationWe do understand theremay be times when illness, emergenciesand relocation force you to discontinue participation in a program.Should this occur, we ask that you submit proof of relocation or awrittenmedical explanation from a physician.

Department CancelationIn the event a program does not reachminimum enrollment, theclass may be canceled with full refunds issued. The administrativefee does not apply in these instances.

Rentals, Birthday Parties, Athletic & Picnic PermitsIf a rental is canceled three weeks before the scheduled date,a full refund less a 10% administrative fee is issued. If a rental iscanceled 20 days or less before the scheduled date, a 50% refundless a 10% administrative fee will be issued.

Lincolnwood Social ClubRefunds will be granted when requested twoweeks before thestart of a program or date of a trip. All refunds are subject to a10% administrative fee. Youmay request a refund in the form ofa check (4-6 week processing time) or a credit to be used towarda future program. Requests due to illness, emergencies andrelocation will be handled as stated above in the General RefundPolicy. Refunds and/or credits will not be granted for requestsreceived after the twoweek deadline unless the vacancy canbe filled.

Volunteer OpportunitiesServe your community with your time and talents! The Lincolnwood Parks andRecreation Department relies onmany different kind of volunteers throughout theyear tomake its programs and special events successful.

We are always looking for special event helpers for the Summer Concert Series,Family Fun Fest andTurkey Trot.

ParkWatchWe need your help keeping Lincolnwood’s parks clean, safe, and free of

vandalism. If you find any broken equipment or have other safety concerns

about the parks, please contact the Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation

Department at (847) 677-9740. If you see vandalism occurring in the parks,

please contact the Lincolnwood Police by calling 911. The Parks and Recreation

Department is committed to providing a safe place for recreation and would

prefer to enhance the quality of the parks rather than replace vandalized

equipment.

Swim AmericaAges: 5-15A Cooperative ProgramOffered by the Skokie Park District andDistrict 219All children should know how to swim. The Swim America program is a progressive learn-to-swim program offered jointly through theSkokie Park District and School District 219. Sign up for a timeslot, then each class of 30 children will be broken up into small groups basedon their skill level. Non-swimmers will start at Level 1, and will progress through the program as they achieve the goals for each level. At thecompletion of Level 10, swimmers will be prepared to join a swim team.

M-NASR serves children, teens and adults withphysical, mental and emotional disabilities, theirfamilies and their community recreation agenciesby providing a wide range of recreation andleisure programs for people of every age, talentand interest. M-NASR conducts programs yearround. Special services include summer camps,special events and holiday trips, after-school andday off from school programs. Participants enjoydances, organized clubs, dinners at localrestaurants and the friendship and company oftheir peers, adding to the richness and joy of theirlives in the process. M-NASR also offers inclusionservices to those who need assistance toparticipate in programs offered by their parkdistricts and/or recreation department. M-NASRoperates several accessible vehicles and offers door-to-door transportation for many activities.

The rates are for rentals scheduled during general hours ofoperation. During holidays, rental fees increase and rental hoursare subject to change.

The Lincolnwood Community Center is the perfect venue foryour next party. The facility is ideal for meetings, family parties,birthdays, showers, and any other type of social gathering.

The Community Center features two indoor spaces. The largeroom accommodates 200 guests; the small room holds 45.Both climate- controlled rooms feature gleaming hardwood floorsand access to the beautifully decorated outdoor patio with spacefor approximately 35 guests.

Memorial Day is a day of remembering themen andwomenwho died while servingin the United States Armed Forces.Formerly known as Decoration Day, itoriginated after the American CivilWar tocommemorate the Union and Confederatesoldiers who died in the CivilWar. By the20th century, Memorial Day had beenextended to honor all Americans who havedied while in themilitary service.

Please help Lincolnwood and AmericanLegion Post #1226 celebrate Memorial Day.The parade kicks off at the corner ofCicero and Pratt Avenues at approximately10:20am, traveling east on Pratt Avenue,turning north on Keeler Avenue, endingin Proesel Park at Madeline’s Garden.The ceremony will take place in Madeline’sGarden at approximately 11am.

All Memorial Day activities are free ofcharge.
