Letter of Recommendation for Norma Chamoun, Owner/Director of Little Hands Daycare and Preschool To Whom it May Concern: My husband Scott and I have known Norma Chamoun since 2002 just prior to the birth of our first son. At the time, we were looking in advance for daycare openings and received very high recommendations from a neighbor whose daughter had been attending Little Hands Daycare for 5 years. Upon our first tour, we immediately felt comfortable and felt that it was a loving, clean, and safe environment for our newborn. Little Hands Daycare not only provided an excellent environment for our newborn son, but Norma also became an invaluable resource for us as new parents. She helped us establish routines for feeding and naps, and gave tips and advice on general care. She truly provides much more than an average "daycare" environment, she genuinely cares about all of the children under her care. She works with not only the children but also the parents to tackle some of the difficult stages of infancy and early childhood, from sleeping and feeding issues, to potty training and temper tantrums. As our son grew, we realized what an amazing learning environment Norma has created at Little Hands Daycare. Not only does she provide a safe environment for children to explore their world and socialize with other children, but Norma also provides an age appropriate curriculum for the preschool aged children. She encourages learning with daily routines and activities ranging from puzzles, to early math and reading/writing skills. Her techniques are extremely effective and her calm, yet firm, manner produces amazing results with the children. Our son was performing tasks way beyond what his friends of the same age were doing at other daycare facilities, such as writing his name before age 4. In fact, when our son went to public kindergarten this past year, he finished the year in the top reading and math groups in his class, which I contribute to the wonderful foundation and head start that Norma provides at Little Hands Daycare. Not only did she teach him the skills necessary to perform, but she provided him with the confidence and discipline to achieve success. And our story is not unique - Norma has done the same with all of the children that have attended Little Hands Daycare and Preschool. I truly believe that if we had more daycare/preschools similar to Little Hands, our children would be better prepared for school and have a better start and more success in our educational system. Our second son was born in 2005 and again we were fortunate enough to get a spot for him. He has also received the same loving care and stimulating environment and has been thriving under Norma's care at Little Hands Daycare and Preschool. In fact, we have been driving from Germantown to Rockville every day in order to have our children attend Little Hands Daycare - it has been worth every penny and every gallon of gas. In addition, Little Hands Daycare in always clean and organized and provides safe and educational toys and activities for children of all ages. The Little Hands Daycare staff always goes above and beyond to provide activities that will help the children grow and learn. The staff is always available to parents for discussions or questions, and we are always kept informed of our children's progress and activities. I recommend Little Hands Daycare to any parents looking for daycare recommendations. It is hard to put into words how wonderful Little Hands has been, but I truly feel that our two sons have received the best possible foundation and we have also become better parents by being part of Little Hands Daycare.
