Dallas County Dallas County BudgetBudget
The County’s FY2012 General Fund budget is $443 million with $43 million in reserves.
Reflecting the County’s historical functions, almost three-fourths of this budget is allocated to justice administration, law enforcement, and juvenile services.
Almost two-thirds of the revenue for this budget is derived from property taxes. (no sales tax)
The budget’s remaining revenue is generated from fines, fees, contracts, interest earnings, and other miscellaneous sources (Texas counties do not have the authority to collect sales taxes).
