is our Lenten emphasis to help eradicate malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. We are seeking to receive a total special offering of $10,000 during Lent to save the lives of 1,000 children. Funds will go toward purchasing treated mosquito nets, providing lifesaving medication, and training health care workers. During Lent we are called to pray, sacrifice and give. This year we have the opportunity to save the lives of 1,000 children. You may make your check payable to First UMC and mark “Imagine No Malaria” on the memo any Sunday between now and Easter, April 5.

Jobs for Life

Four determined students graduated from Jobs for Life yesterday. They are now

equipped with a resume and vocational plan that will lead them toward a new work career over the next twelve months. We not only spent time focus-ing on work-related skills, such as how to interview, but also on learning how God wants us to live for Him and that He does have a plan to give us a future and hope. Students also learned that God designed us with a purpose. Pray for these four students that their spirits be kept high and they stay focused on employment and transforming their community. Thanks to you the church for supporting this powerful program! ~David Johnson—JfL Site Leader

Our Big Talent Show

Mark your calendars for April 29! We are ending Our Big Night with dinner and a church-wide talent show. Do you have a talent to share? You can find entry forms in the church lobby. Please return entry forms to Kim Matthews by April 22.

Offertory Anthem Agincourt Hymn, arr. Carl Schalk O Love, How Deep, How Broad, How High

O love, how deep, how broad, how high, How passing thought and fantasy, That God, the Son of God, should take Our mortal form for mortals' sake.

For us to wickedness betrayed, Scourged, mocked, in purple robe arrayed, He bore the shameful cross and death, For us gave up His dying breath.

For us He rose from death again; For us He went on high to reign; For us He sent the Spirit here To guide, to comfort, and to cheer.

All glory to our Lord and God For love so deep, so high, so broad: The Trinity whom we adore Forever and forevermore.

*The Doxology Doxology OLD HUNDREDTH
