Regional/National

Page 9: Lesson 1

Using a laptop or computer, work on your own (or in small groups) to research some of the regional/national groups that exist in Wales. To make this more interesting you could look for groups related to your A/Level BTEC studies.

e.g. If you are doing Drama - look for national groups like The Arts

Council of Wales, If you are doing Geography - look at the Welsh Wildlife Trust, If you are doing any of the sciences - look at the Welsh Blood

Service If you are doing a languages - look at the Welsh Language

Commission.

You are required to spend 10 minutes researching and when your time is up you will be given a partner or partner group in the class to explain what you have found. This feedback can be visual as well as verbal.

TASK

Page 10: Lesson 1

Although we may not directly see the benefits of international community groups and organisations, the British public make a number of contributions to a number of groups/organisations e.g.

Comic Relief Water Aid Oxfam Save the panda WWF Red Cross/Red crescent Amnesty International

International

Page 11: Lesson 1

Watch the series of video adverts for international groups and storyboard your own advert that could be made to promote the international group. (Your teacher may allow paired work)

NB A storyboard is like a comic book and does not need elaborate drawings as the speech bubbles/comments underneath are important – templates are available
