Leicester Mercury published PICTURE GALLERY: Prayervigil held
Shocked and saddened by the shooting of tourists in Tunisia last week, a Prayer Vigil in CathedralGardens was held to remember all those suffering because of this tragedy, especially victims, theinjured, other witnesses, their families and friends.
We also want to show solidarity with the people ofTunisia, themselves appalled and grieving at what hashappened in their country, and to express thanks to thepeople of Sousse who courageously helped to preventfurther deaths.
This is an important opportunity for people from all ofLeicester's communities to come together in prayer andreflection as a sign of our unity in the face of violence, hate and extremism of all forms. On Friday, peopleacross the country will also pause for a minute's silenceat 12 noon to remember the shootings.
