Traineeships are innovative programmes created to support your business recruit and train young people. The focus of Traineeships is to develop these young people to become successful Apprentices or employees within your business.

Traineeships are flexible programmes from 6 to 8 weeks, which are targeted at 16 to 24 year olds.

All training costs are met by government funding.

The College and employer can design the Traineeship programme to suit your business requirements, which

would include the essential core of a high quality work placement, English and maths, and upskilling the young person in team working. The training will consider both the business and individual’s requirements and desired successful outcomes.

You could be eligible for a Grant of £1500 if your trainee progresses on to an Apprenticeship within your organisation.

Traineeships are a stepping stone to future success for young people and businesses.

Marketing is crucial for an organisation, helping it to create value by better understanding the needs of its customers and providing them with innovative products and services.

The strategic elements of marketing can influence the short and long-term success of an organisation and allow you to plan for the future. However, effective marketing is not about a one size fits all approach, so to ensure you get the relevant skills and knowledge for your organisation, our marketing training can be customised to suit your company.

For smaller businesses which do not have a dedicated marketing function, we can incorporate marketing training with other programmes including leadership and management and customer service training.

An exciting new addition to Leicester College’s training delivery portfolio for 2014 is our new Social Media for Business Advanced Apprenticeship. This brand new qualification is already proving incredibly popular with employers, who are seeking to branch out their communication and marketing strategy into the new social media channels.

WORK EXPERIENCEFrom Potential to Performance

A new way to pay course feesRather than your employees paying for their course fees up front, they now have the option of accessing a loan from the Student Finance Loans Company (SLC), which they will only start to repay once they have completed the training and are earning over £21,000.

The loans are for anyone who: • Is aged 24 and above at the start of their course• Is studying a full Level 3 or Level 4 in Further Education and Training (excluding Apprenticeships)• Is resident in the UK/EU for the last three years• Has not previously had a loan to do the same type

and level of qualification.

The loan is available irrespective of their current employment status and the loan will not be means tested or subject to any credit checks.

How they workThe 24+ Advanced Learning Loans are available for full level 3 or 4 qualifications. These include workplace Diplomas and Certificates, A Levels and Access to Higher Education Diploma courses.

For any course where your employee is able to apply for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan, our course guides and website will detail a separate 24+ fee. If this fee is not noted against a level 3 or 4 course, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 0116 224 2240 and they will double check.

For all eligible courses, the loan will be up to 100% of the cost of the training including course and material fees. This could be anything from £300 upwards depending on the individual course cost.

How much will the repayment be?Repayments will be made at 9% of your income over £404 a week, £1,750 a month or £21,000 a year. For example, if your income is £25,000 a year than your loan repayments would be around £360 a year or £30 a month.

The repayments are based purely on income, not on the amount borrowed or number of loans, so regardless of how much you owe, the repayments will be the same. If your income falls below £21,000 repayments will stop and only restart when your income increases to more than £21,000.

24+ ADVANCEDLEARNING LOANS

If your employees loan is for an Access to Higher Education course and they progress and complete a Higher Education/University Level programme, they will not have to pay back their 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.
