Fluids
Gases and Liquids are collectively calledfluids.

A gas assumes the shape and volume of its container. Particles
move freely past one another. A gas is compressible as
particles have lots of free space between them.
A liquid assumes the shape of the part of the container which
it occupies. Particles can move past one another. A liquid isnot easily compressible as there is little free space between
particles
A solid retains a fixed volume and shape. Particles are lockedinto place. A solid is not easily compressible.
