Welcome to the activity N°1 of the ENGLISH DOT WORKS A2 LEVEL 3 training program.

The importance of doing diagnosis activities as learning activities is based on allowing todetermine the apprentice´s proficiency level regarding the four skills of the Englishlanguage such as: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Hence , an educationalcorrelation is created between the instructor and apprentice, taking into consideration thepersonal learning pace so that he/she becomes aware of his/her own progress fromobservations and recommendations from the instructor. At the same time, a basic structurereview that was learnt in previous levels, is suggested in order to identify thecommunicative functions as simple present to talk about routines and facts, presentprogressive to describe actions taking place when talking, simple past to narrate situationsthat happened in a specific moment in past and present perfect to illustrate situations thatstarted in a specific past but at the moment of talking it is not finished yet. Finally, the

apprentice is contextualized in vocabulary, expressions and readings to reinforce theconcepts when conjugating the verbs according to the tense.

This training program tends to reach population that has access to internet and interest inknowledge, within the platform they may have to access to diverse cultures different fromthe conventional one.

The previous activity requires a close review of the program material corresponding to thelearning activity N°1 “I recognise my communicative skill in the usage of English

3.1 Actividades de Reflexión inicial. 

Help Julian, the main character of the story in this training program, by answering the

following concern:

¿What is the importance of knowing how to conjugate and implement the verbs

according to the tense?

To solve this activity´s question you have to: 

  Analyze the training material of the learning activity N°1 “I recognise my

communicative skill in the usage of English language” that is located at the

“Program material” button. 

  Review the support material corresponding to training material N°1. 

3.2 Actividades de contextualización e identificación de conocimientos necesarios

para el aprendizaje.

Check the timetable activities by following the link at the “Program information” 

button and also the Learning activity N°1 “I recognise my communicative skill in the

usage of the english language” which can be found at the “Learning activities” 

button to know which actions take and help Julián, the main character of the story.

The previous knowledge survey allows measuring the level of the apprentice’s English

knowledge. And it also measures the use of the virtual platform. In that way, the

apprentice has to click the “Learning activities”  button and then click on the folder:

“Previous activities”  to find the program survey which is not gradable but it is a

previous requirement.

There is also a Social forum or presentation to participate in, which is a meeting place

between apprentices and the instructor, where you could share expectancies, lifeprojects or likes with your colleagues. This forum tends to create partnership,

recreation, leisure and reflection.

To begin, each apprentice must create a personal presentation including: professionalexperience, expectancies and aspects considered helpful in this program.  

Steps to participate:

1. Go to the “Discussion forums”  button, click on the link “Social forum orpresentation” and then create a “Secuencia”. 

2. Type the subject and content of the message 3. Click on “Enviar”.4. Go to the “Discussion forums” button, click on the link “Platform recognition

forum” and then follow the steps 1 to 3. 

Note: These forums are not gradable but they are a requirement to start the trainingprogram.

3.3 Actividades de apropiación del conocimiento (Conceptualización y

Teorización).

One of the challenges is that you must test your communicative competence in Englishwith the conjugation of verbs in simple present, present continuous tense, past simple, pastperfect and present perfect by means of an interactive game.

To complete the activity you will have to: 

1. Analyze the training material of the learning activity N°1 “I recognise my

communicative skills in the usage of the English language” that is located at the

“Program Material” button.

2. Review the support material. 

Once you have finished reviewing the material, provide the following evidence:

find the interactive activity “Conjugating verbs”  which will be played on linefollowing the instructions given at the beginning of the activity.

  Once you have solved all the questions, you have to click on finish activity.

3.4 Actividades de transferencia del conocimiento

Watch the video “Presentation Tip: 3 Steps To Easily Introduce Yourself, that could be found on“Program Material” button inside the folder Training material N°1 that refers to the creation of anappropiate personal presentation.  After that, go to “Discussion forums”  button, thenparticipate in the Thematic forum 1: “My life project” through a word text, Arial 12, whichmust contain your personal presentation in English, following these guidelines:Introduction, knowledge, skills and a contribution to the productive sector you are involvedin.
