Rule 3

Familiarise yourself with the Facebook in Education page on...Facebook

Rule 4 Complete the college’s (brief) Facebook training session on Moodle. This training is available to other institutions by request.

Rule 5

Do not use your normal Facebook Profile. Set up a professional Facebook profile linked to your institutional email address

Rule 6If you have a Safeguarding or Child Protection Officer, ask them to set up a professional profile on Facebook and ensure they are enrolled as page / group administrators for all institutional Facebook spaces.

Rule 7Ensure your institution’s logo and name is displayed as the default page / group image

Rule 8

Ensure that you have similar message to this displayed in all institutional Facebook spaces

Rule 9

Make sure you get students’ permission to use films and images on your Facebook space.

Rule 10Finally...when you have done everything, complete the following checklist and email it to me!

Advice and Guidance:Friending: if a student sends a friend request, then feel free to accept it! You’re using a teacher’s profile, so this is fine in a professional sense. However: do NOT send out friends requests to your students, even using your professional account.

Pages and Groups: Anyone can comment on any image or status update on any page. There is no longer a need to ‘Like’ pages before you can add your own content. Groups have more levels of privacy.
