What is ICT 1?
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an instructional program that prepares individuals to effectively use technology in learning, communication, and life skills.

The RULES!
Lab Rules
• Check your workstation at the beginning of class. Any problems or changes MUST be reported to the teacher at this time. Your workstation is expected to be neat and clean at all times.
• Food, drinks, candy, or gum remain OUTSIDE the lab.
• Hair brushes, combs, picks, cosmetics, perfume/cologne, lotion, etc. remain OUTSIDE the lab. These items will be taken up.
• Remain at assigned station.
• Magnets remain OUTSIDE in the lab.
• Courtesy and cooperation are expected with other students and teacher at all times.
Steps & Infractions
• Step 1 – Student Warning
• Step 2 – Student Conference/Pride Card
• Step 3 – Parent Contact / Classroom Intervention
• Step 4 – Office Referral (Student will be placed on Administrative Discipline Ladder – See GMS Student Planner/Handbook)
• Any infraction after Step 4 – Office Referral (Continues on the Administrative Discipline Ladder)
Absences & Tardies
When you are Absent…
• Make-up work is YOUR responsibility.
• Check Blackboard each day for your assignments.
• Lab work missed due to absence can be made up after school in the Computer Lab.
• You must follow the lab procedures or after school lab privileges will be terminated.
Tardiness…
Check the School Handbook for Complete information.
• Must have a tardy slip from the attendance clerk to come into class or a pass from another teacher
• Must include date, time and your name
• After 3 unexcused tardy, disciplinary action will be taken
• After 4 or more unexcused tardy you will be referred to the office
The Procedures
Entering Lab Procedures
• Put your backpacks and other materials in the designated area.
• Quietly bring ONLY paper/notebook and pencil/pen to your workstation when necessary.
• Be seated and working on your Daily Technology Task (DTT) before the tardy bell rings.
• Read the Blackboard each day to check for important daily assignments/announcements.
• Follow all student handbook rules.• Be prepared for class with all needed materials, also be
alert and ready to work.• Respect others’ rights and properties.• When present ALL assignments for ICT 1 must be
completed in the school’s computer labs.
Exiting Lab Procedures
• Log off/shutdown following the designated procedures.
• Leave the workstation clean and in proper order.
• Place textbooks in assigned area.
• Place handouts in assigned area.
• Do not log off until instructed by the teacher.
• Remain in your assigned seat or area until prompted to leave class.
• After the bell rings, wait for the teacher to dismiss you.
• Push your chair in before leaving the computer lab.
• Please leave the room in a quiet and orderly manner.
