Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill Parish Notes The Fourth Sunday of Advent December 23, 2018 IN THE NAME OF CHRIST we welcome you to Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill! Immanuel is an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Virginia, and is part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Immanuel was founded by the Virginia Theological Seminary. We are one parish that worships in two locations, in Zabriskie Chapel (3606 Seminary Road) and in Immanuel Chapel (3737 Seminary Road) on the seminary grounds. A fully-staffed nursery is available in both chapels for those parents who would like to take advantage of this ministry. An usher would be happy to assist you in making your children comfortable and welcome. Please join us after the Eucharists for coffee and give us an opportunity to meet you. ANNOUNCEMENTS More Pageant Participants Needed! FINAL REHEARSAL — with Pizza Dinner Provided —TODAY @ 4:00p.m! Thanks to those to have volunteered! We still need a few more people in non-speaking roles for this year ’s Christmas Pageant, which will be held at 5:00 p.m. on December 24th. Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun by emailing the Rev. There will be four openings on Vestry this January, so if you are interested in becoming involved in church leadership, we encourage you to submit your name for nomination. The election is held at the Annual Meeting in January. Vestry members serve three year terms and are responsible for a Stewardship area such as worship; children, youth & families; senior ministry; resources; stewardship; adult formation; newcomers & evangelism; outreach; and pastoral care. To be on the Vestry, you must be age 16 or older, baptized, be confirmed or received into the church, be

known as a contributor by the treasurer and have received Holy Communion at least three times the preceding year.
