    Self Analysis

    There are several activities which I can use to identify my strengths and weaknesses. Among them

    this is one self assessment which is given by Dr. Brett Martin-Smith as a part of our assignment. This

    self assessment revealed areas of proficiency as well as the need for development of my leadership

    abilities.

    According to the results, it indicates me as a good facilitator. I also agree with that decision because,

    I have good practices which a facilitator have. For example, keeping clear records; listening skills;

    stack a conversation; draw people out and balance participation. Furthermore I believe I have main

    components of social and emotional intelligence such as Self awareness, Social awareness and Socialinfluence. Also I improved some qualities which a facilitator need through my life experiences such

    as, supportive and encouraging, respect, accept, and Speak clearly, using language that is age

    appropriate, easily understood, direct, timely and can understand cultural differences that influence

    values, beliefs, and behaviours .

    According to the result of the Competing Values Skills Assessment (CVSA), my Mentor leadership skill

    is in a satisfactory level. According to the assessments statements I understood a good mentor

    needs qualities such as Authentic, Personally Involved, Listens, kindness, respect for self and others,

    compassion and patience. I believe I have improved some qualities among them. Most of them I

    developed by my childhood experiences.

    The self assessment shows I am very weak in innovation. I am not surprising about it .Because I

    know I have no sound knowledge and skills in questioning and experimenting. Also I am not an

    intense observer.

    Furthermore, my skills as a Broker are in a satisfactory level. When I worked as a tax officer at the

    department of inland revenue I grab some knowledge in financial literacy skills, people and

    customer service skills and the ability to really listen to clients needs. Also I have the skills in

    analysing data. But according to the self assessment I am poor in sales ability.

    As a Producer too, I have some skills in satisfactory level.I am not surprise about this result as I know

    I am not well verse in organizing, quick decision making. I am a good communicator but not a good

    negotiator. I am a friendly person but n ota diplomacy one.According to the assessment statement,

    it indicates I as an energetic person. It is a good quality for a good producer and my daily physical

    exercises helps to me to improve that skill.

    According to the results of the self assessment I have leadership skills as a Director. I believe, I have

    good Communication skills and can express my idea clearly and I am with the Listening Skills.

    Furthermore, according to the assessment statement I feel Empathy, Persuasion, Leadership, Focus,

    and Division of Work, Administrative and Financial Skills and problem solving which need to be a

    director. I improved these qualities through my life experiences career experiences.

    The skills required to become a program coordinator are fairly consistent, regardless of the field.

    According to the assessment I believe this skill includes working with multiple, conflicting priorities,

    creating a project plan, communications and interacting with people at all levels of the organization.

    According to the self analysis I realise I have some of these skills. The Diploma in human resources

    management which I followed at the University of Colombo was help to build up some skills of them.

    Professional experiences gain from my previous jobs gave me a background on the three major

    stages in the activities of a staffing coordinator--planning, execution and maintenance. Also as I took

    part in recruitment and training section At the Department of Inland Revenue. It helped me in

    building skills as a coordinator.

    According to the points which I awarded revealed my best skill is as a Monitor.I fully accept the

    result as I believe I have improved this skill form my school. I was a member of the school prefect

    team and the responsibilities were the supervision of students activities. I was involved in

    community building, conflict management and students discipline development activities.
