Picture Elise Eberwein Executive Vice President – People and Communications Elise Eberwein is executive vice president – People and Communications. She manages human resources, media relations, employee communications, social media and public affairs. Previously, Eberwein served as executive vice president – People, Communications and Public Affairs for US Airways. Eberwein has nearly 30 years of combined airline experience. She joined America West Airlines in 2003 as vice president – Corporate Communications. Prior to that, she was vice president – Communications at Denver-based Frontier Airlines where she spent five years leading media relations, employee communications, customer relations, community relations and government affairs activities. She began her career as a flight attendant for TWA. Eberwein was awarded the 2012 Volunteer Executive of the Year by the Phoenix Business Journal for US Airways’ community services programs and named as a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal in 2010. Under her leadership, US Airways’ diversity and inclusion initiatives earned awards in 2012 from LATINAStyle, Military Times Edge and Black EOE Journal as a top diversity employer. In 2015, Eberwein was named one of Premier Traveler’s 20 Most Compelling Women in Travel. Eberwein holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Lindenwood University. She is a member of the board of trustees for the Arthur W. Page Society and also serves on the board of the Wings Club.
