LBSNAAAn Introduction

History

Academy is shifted from Delhi to Mussoorie in 1959.The Previous Building was Metcalf House while new

one was Charlie Villae Hotel.

Site

It is situated at the altitude of six thousand on a serpentine route and very close to

Mall Road. These are the two aspects of Academy also.

Nomenclature

This word “Academy” is adopted from Plato’s institution, inspired by his Platonic

world

Entrance

Academy starts with a Weeping Willow * tree at its entrance. In Hindi it is called

MAJNU. * Botanically Weeping Willow * is a monosexual tree, a rare

species

At Peak

At the gate of Academy ,there is the highest peak of its hillock . It is called Katesar,

means Beheaded.

Last point

It ends with a Buddhist pagoda, where one can get peace,

which often needed.

Vertical Cross SectionFrom top to bottom

Its Topmost construction is Sampurna-Anand & lowest is in Happy Valley. Names decided to pacify the inauspicious things of its horizontal division

Products

Academy has a good practice of selecting goods for their processing

center, picked afresh from its Manufacturing House.

OT

OTs are here groomed and some of them are Bridegroomed also

Officer’s Office

Generally we all call Shila (means Stone) rather than Villa to our workplaces like

DhruvShila & KarmaShila. This is our matter of heart

Director’s Office

Office is designed to follow tradition.

Hostels

Academy has three hostels, earlier meant for separate accommodations-

Kaveri for Lady OTs ,Ganga for Gentleman OTs and

There is a Nar-Mada also

Hospital

We have a Dispensary clubbed with Disaster Management

Auditorium

We have good auditorium, seats cushioned with Sleepwell foam

OT Lounge

OT lounge is thought to be a Recreation Room,

For those who has no thought other than creation.

Only place of the world, where lockers are unlocked

Computer Lab

Computer Lab has largest number of earliest original IBM models

Library

People use to come here to see great scenic beauty of Himalaya

Classroom

Classes always break with tea, to break their inherent monotony

Polo Ground

There is a Polo Ground only at Marathon distance.

Gym

Gym is better equipped for Dead weight loss

Riding

Well trained horses to train OTs, better than any stuff or staff of Academy

Mess

We have a Real Mess.

Canteen

Canteen, for those who cant walk to Ganga Dhaba

Kendriya Bhandar

A unique kind of Departmental Store,

where you can get goods, sold nowhere

Ganga Dhaba

Sometimes OTs also need good food. It is the best example of Informal Public

Private Partnership

India Day

We ensure at least two happy days in each course, by celebration

Trek

We hold four types of trek--- Doditaal type for Foundation

Course, Benauge type for Phase-I, Mall Road type for Phase-II and Hostel to Mess type for Phase-III

Village visit

We feel OTs must have some exposure of villages,

run by themselves and not ruined by ourselves
