UltrapUre water systems

Crystal B ultrapure systems are multi-purpose water purification systems. The Crystal B systems produce ultrapure and pure water directly from tap water.

Crystal B Ultrapure systems are available in the following configurations:

Crystal B Trace• (P/N CB-1015) produces water for inorganic trace analysis. Water can be used for atomic absorption spectrometry (with graphite furnace atomizer), ICP-OES ana-lysis, ICP-MS and other inorganic analytical methods.Crystal B HPLC• (P/N CB-1101) produces water with very low or-ganic carbon (TOC) content mee-ting requirements of liquid chro-matography methods. Crystal B HPLC water can also be used for some microbiological and molecular biology appli cations.Crystal B Bio• (P/N CB-1201) system produces water with very low organic and RNase/DNase content that is intended for the use in molecular biology, including RNase-sensitive appli-cations.

Any configuration of a Crystal B ultrapure system produces both ultrapure and pure water. Ultrapure (Grade 1) water is dispensed through the point-of-use filter on the front panel. Pure (Grade 2) water is dispensed directly from the storage tank. Crystal B ultrapure water can be used for the most demanding appli cations including, but not li-mited to: • inorganic trace analysis • liquid chromatography • cell culture • molecular biology

With resistivity of 18.2 Mega-Ohm*cm (0.055 μS/cm) ultrapure water produced by a Crystal B system exceeds requirements of all relevant standards (ISO 3696 Grade 1, ASTM Type I, CLSI Type I). Purified water is collected in a storage tank. An integrated recirculation system ensures consistent quality of water and reduces total organic carbon (TOC) to very low levels: <2ppb for “HPLC” and “Bio” configurations and 5-10 ppb for the “Trace” configuration.

Pure water produced by the Crystal B systems complies with the requirements of ISO 3696 Grade 2 water and can be used for labware washing, wet chemistry methods, flame spectrophotometers, etc. The dispense rate of ultrapure water is 2 L/min. Whereas the dispense rate of pure water is 4 L/min.

All Crystal B systems have a controller with a graphic LCD display for water quality indi-cation. The LCD display provides all necessary information about sys-

tem status, as well as the remaining pre-filter life and deionization (DI) module performance. The smart DI module monitoring system also provides a reduction in running costs. A user is instructed to replace the DI module only when the module is near the end of its service life.

If a Bluetooth option (P/N 10103) is installed, the controller can be de-tached, so the Crystal B system can be controlled remotely. If space-saving is crucial, wall-mounting the Crystal B, and the use of a re-mote control is the right choice. All cartridges and filters are easily ac-cessible and no tools are required to replace them. The Crystal B sys-tem can be installed on a labora-tory bench or mounted on a wall.

The Crystal B has important safety functions:

tank filling control •tap water pressure control •protection from tank sensor failure •

UltrapUre water systems

The Crystal E ultrapure systems are economy class, multi-purpose, water purification systems.

Crystal E ultrapure water systems are available in the following configurations:

Crystal E Trace System• (P/N CE-1001) produces water for inor-ganic trace analysis. This water is recommended for atomic absorption spectrometry (with graphite furnace atomizer), ICP-OES analysis, ICP-MS and other inorganic analytical methods.Crystal E HPLC System• (P/N CE-1101) produces water with very low organic carbon content (TOC) to comply with the re-quirements of liquid chromatog-raphy methods. Crystal E HPLC water can also be used for some microbiological and molecular biology applications.Crystal E Bio System• (P/N CE-1201) produces water with very low organic and RNase/DNase content, intended for molecular biology, including RNase-sensi-tive applications.

All Crystal E systems produce two types of water: Ultrapure (ISO 3696 Grade 1) and Pure (ISO 3696 Grade 2). Ultrapure water produced by the Crystal E systems has resistiv-ity 18.2 MegaOhm*cm (conduc-tivity 0.055 μS/cm). This exceeds requirements of all the relevant standards (ISO 3696 Grade 1, ASTM Type I, CLSI Type I). Puri-fied water is collected in a storage tank. The recirculation system en-sures a consistent quality of water, and a low level of organic carbon content (TOC). TOC is <2ppb for “HPLC” and “Bio” configurations; and 5-10 ppb for the “Trace” con-figuration. The dispensing rate of high-quali-ty, Ultrapure water is 2 L/min.

Sterifeed is a water purification system that is designed to produ-ce feed water for autoclaves.

The Sterifeed system produces water with conductivity of 5-11 uS/cm. This is within the recom-mended conductivity range of 3-15 uS/cm, presented by autocla-ve manufacturers.

Water with a conductivity reading above 15 uS/cm facilitates salt deposits on heating elements, eventually leading to the failure of the heating element. Water with a conductivity below 3 uS/cm can attack internal surfaces of the au-toclave, thusly damaging water le-vel sensors, heating elements, and connections.

Sterifeed water provides optimal conductivity, within the range of 5-11 uS/cm, granting reliable ope-ration of the autoclave.

A pressurized water storage tank provides a consistent water supply to the autoclave. Many autoclaves require a pressurized and purified water supply. Some autoclaves have priming pumps for purified water intake, but if the water sup-ply is not pressurized, an air gap may block the water flow. If an air blockage occurs, the operation of autoclave is not possible until the air is removed from the system. The pressurized water storage tank of the Sterifeed system eli-minates the formation of air gaps, and ensures reliable operation of the autoclave.

The Sterifeed system has an LCD display that provides information about the system status, water quality, and the remaining pre-fil-ter life. The water softening modu-le ensures long life of the purifying elements. These design features reduce the operational costs for your laboratory.

The Sterifeed comes with the ne-cessary accessories for connection to an autoclave, and no tools are required!

The Crystal Clinic water purifica-tion system is designed to provide purified water to automated bioc-hemistry analyzers. Purified water ensures long-term, reliable opera-tion from a biochemistry analyzer.

Water produced from the Crystal Clinic has a resistivity of 10

MegaOhm*cm. This exceeds the manufacturers’ requirements for feed water to biochemistry analyzers. A double RO module and pressurized 60L tank ensu-re a stable and reliable supply of water. The Crystal Clinic systems are equipped with a pressure re-gulator. Purified water pressure is

precisely adjusted to the require-ments of the analyzer.

The Crystal Clinic has two reverse osmosis modules and a high-ca-pacity deionization cartridge (DI). The large DI cartridge volume sig-nificantly reduces operating costs.

Water purified by the reverse os-mosis modules is collected in the storage tank. The water is then polished to 10 MegaOhm*cm by the deionization module. The two reverse osmosis modules enable a high flow rate through the perme-able membranes, ensuring that purified water is always available.

A large LCD display provides infor-mation about the system status, water quality, and pre-filter life. The Crystal Clinic has two water quality sensors. The first sensor controls the quality of water filling the storage tank. This is shown on the LCD display while the tank is beeing filled. The second sensor controls the quality of water sup-plied to the Biochemical Analyzer. The Crystal Clinic system automa-tically monitors the performance of the deionization module and alerts the operator when the DI module needs replacement. The DI module and pre-filter can be replaced by the operator. No tools required!

The Crystal Clinic has a Pure water dispense port on the front panel. Pure (Grade 2) water can be used for general laboratory applicati-ons.
